  1. Gotta' love the internet. "I don't really know what I'm talking about. It's gotta be a grand!" "Yes! I was thinking a grand too! I love money!" # of people throwing their super lofty expert opinion on what a page is worth that are also willing to pay the amount they throw out there? 0 Pro tip: That number will always be 0.
  2. In depth recap: Pretty good show. Bought lots of stuff. Got to catch up with some old friends, boardies as well as a bunch of drunk chicks. Bill was definitely in the right from what I saw on the exile/expulsion when all of the data was processed. Got rained on. Unfortunately a dealer from Chicago that I hadn't met before until that morning did pass away suddenly in the bathroom. Bought Jim Lee art, a Spidey 1, X-men 1, pile of slabs etc. Made women swoon and men jealous. Possibly still hungover. Tough to say. Conquered.
  3. Their auctions used to go high because they shilled them to death and would send 2nd chance offers, or offer the bidders whatever they were auctioning off of Ebay. Is that the reputation you mean, or have they changed?
  4. Ah, that's handy. Never thought to use it for that. Thanks
  5. http://albertmoy.com/gallerypiece.asp?Piece=17355 Kind of a dream page for me, and since I like to torture myself, I was wondering if anyone saw it before it sold...
  6. Your link doesn't work. (well the one to the 200 listings doesn't, the individual one I clicked on did)
  7. I stopped watching CC auctions because I was beaten by a healthy amount on a bunch of stuff I bid on last year. Just kinda figured it wouldn't be worth my time, but I would have 100% paid double this hammer price.
  8. Same. (I'm counting Planetary as 90's since that's when it started) It truly was the last monthly book that I started at the beginning and really looked forward to every month. I really hope Kirkman continues it in some way. Hey! I live in Atlanta too!
  9. Missed the auction because I had to travel. I did buy something on the trip to wipe my tears with though.
  10. Your off topic post killed the thread and everyone died but me.
  11. Yeah..don't get me wrong, this is a great book, but it's in no way comparable to an original #1 .
  12. That one and I believe a couple of others had a really small amount made. That may have been one that was only 1000...can't remember atm. Someone who knows better please feel free to correct me. By and large though Turtles books have gone nuclear since covid, so anything limited/early etc is in pretty big demand. Cool book!
  13. Kidding I guess you could post some of the book on vacation, at a baseball game, theme park etc if you really wanted.
  14. Can you post some more pics? Also, NICE thread resurrection, and WTTB!
  15. I binged the whole thing yesterday. The bar has been set pretty high by recent MCU shows, but it destroys anything DC has done show wise. Overall I liked it. I'd grade it a 7.5-8.0 OWW.
  16. Larry's has more like a 10-20k print run despite what you may have heard and also came out way after the original #1.
  17. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144024698795?hash=item21888a7fab:g:IuIAAOSwzzdgi4Ow Sweet lord. Nearly 2 Gs for this Darth Maul newsie..
  18. That cover looks way more Jae Lee than Romita sr. I could see it maybe being a loose pencil Romita sr with Jae Lee doing the finishes. The face could imply that, but the detail on the body is 100% Lee. The "Rosen" sig is also something that looks more like it was done by Jae Lee than Romita. Looking at the Wizard sketches now they are very obviously Romita. It's also not just a white background. Don't disrespect the krackle. Also, the blue cover is dumb looking, but that's just my opinion.
  19. Have a couple of the Mask ones. If it was a Bone cover it would be some $ fosho. Also, I agree on Bone 5. When I slabbed a 9.8 a while back it was the only 9.8 on the census.
  20. Yeah, I fell for it too. I think everyone did, but at least there are 2 of us!
  21. Kinda funny that people call it the "Rosen" variant considering that guy never existed. The marketing for the Sentry was awesome. Also, makes sense that the Rosen (actually also a Jae Lee cover) was an incentive variant and the SDCC was a show variant. The Rosen is a much cooler cover IMO and goes with the marketing theme they went for with it being a lost character that they discovered in an old filing cabinet. This series is one of my absolute favorites. I own the OA for the #2 and #3 covers.
  22. He didn't have any pics of his items, but with the Stormshadow, his name "Rob" is indented on the back from when someone wrote his name for it to be held at a shop when he was a kid. Would likely be visible in a photo. If you could do that, yes, it would be helpful. Thanks.
