  1. I know this issue has also been covered and discussed to some degree but hopefully you'll indulge me a bit in posting my findings. Marvel Stories Nov 1940, on the stands with Marvel Mystery #13 (among others, I don't have the info on hand). When previously discussed, I'm not sure if any notice was given to which artists are responsible for this issues interior artwork. It IS listed in the table of contents! That would be (to my knowledge) their only known Golden Age rendering of the Human Torch, if they in fact were responsible for the ad! Interestingly as well, I saw only one other ad for Marvel Mystery in this issue and it is a small one.
  2. I know we discussed this a month or so ago but today I had the opportunity to break out some Timely Red Circle pulps and snap some pics. I have earlier and later issues, but there seems to be a sweet spot (1940) for Red Circle pulps to carry advertisements for Timely Comics. Some of this was already posted, so forgive any duplication. Sky Devils Feb 1940, on the stands next to Marvel Mystery #4 and Daring Mystery #2!!! A lot of ads (looks to be 5) in this one, for both comics!
  3. WOW, killer copy with white pages!!! Congratulations!!! Tough book in that grade with those pages!!!
  4. Rabbit magician flipping the -script on magician to Cowgirl flipping the -script on Cowboy by making HIM jump thru hoops ... er ... ropes.
  5. Um ... there's a "chance" I may have been unclear on your level of preparedness in regard to that particular matter ...
  6. Ok, well since you're here and ready to go, I have another for ya.
  7. Since @bc has done so much for us here, I was thinking maybe I should throw one in so he can play too! I won't do this often, as he's doing a great job, but he should get to play a little too!!! Of course, I can't make it TOO easy for him, so I'll try it in Spanish first!
  8. Tough book to find and impossible in high-grade!!! Well done!!!
  9. I know I've posted this elsewhere, but I don't think I've posted it here. This is an original art page from Star Ranger #2 by Creig Flessel of the character Bull Moose. Cover dated April 1937, it's the only Flessel art that I have and likely ever WILL have. I will also include a pic of what it looks like in the printed comic form.
  10. I'm totally with you on that! I only have the second at the moment.
  11. VERY cool to see these!!! I had a copy of the Star Ranger #3 at the same time I had the Star #6 and they both went to Bob Beerbohm in the late 90s. I really liked the oversized format too!!! Thanks for sharing these!!! Brings me right back to when I used to have them!!!
  12. BOTH are killer books, but that price variant in particular is SUPER tough in that high of a grade!!! Where ya got the time machine stashed???
  13. This is a Jack Keeler Junior Genius splash page from Stuntman #1 and how it appears in the comic.
  14. These are both SO early and rare! I had a Star Comics #6 decades ago but never owned a Star #2. A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to pick up some original art to Star Comics #2. This is a Fred Schwab end page from the King Kole's Kourt story and what it looks like in the comic.
  15. They're out there and I've seen some low grade ones, which should be somewhat affordable. Keep looking ... ya never know!
