  1. my 13 year old wondered why he didn't just spin around super fast with his arms out and swat/blow them away...seriously they're just small flying robot bugs....guess that's not as dramatic as his getting stung. Gorilla Grodd should pump up the volume. happens every episode! with his speed he misses all kinds of opportunities to extricate himself. Id have to say that the producers chalk this up to Flash learning how to use his powers in hi first year on the job. And, our frustration at having been reading the Flash "manuals" for 40 years which taught all of us 1000s of ways to use super speed...
  2. my oh my how jaded we have become in so short a time. The mere fact that we are seeing this and its actually in production with this serious grim tone and delving into such "advanced post 90s comics themes" (not the silly 60s and 70s stuff) is just amazing. of course WB can mess it up and NOT give us the epic story we hope for or think we are getting (like Superman Returns) but jeez… they are TRYING and giving a very energetic and expensive effort, no? (Actually they will probably not layer in enough humor etc as Marvel does (like Hulk sucker punching Thor or Downey doing anything Downey does! etc) and we will get nothing BUT a long serious, ominous and unrelenting struggle for 2 and a half hours…. yikes. But as others often say, lets be aware and grateful for what we are getting from Hollywood today! Dreams come true for most of us.
  3. and when his movie career fizzles he can come back as a strung out junkie! full circle with the comics! Green Lantern/Diggle may be on the scene by then too.
  4. It's clear now that the "Flash/Arrow" spinoff will be a team show same as Flash and a Arrow both feature an expanding roster of other super heroes as they go along. Now with three shows they can "team up" from that growing list to usher in the Atom to the universe. The next show they get will be tentatively called "Flash/ArrowAtom" spinoff until they pick a name. Probably Hawkman by then. I like the name Brave and the Bold, but really, it sounds like an afternoon soap opera.
  5. I think Negan scene was kinda lame. Of all the ways to bring him back. Maybe it's a tease and he'll just sit there.
  6. oooohhh just thought of a great twist that peace Wells as a hero. RF/Thawne and Wells somehow separate again, maybe Thawne regains the speed force and leaves, and old innocent Wells dons the red Flash Suit to save Barry's mom from Thawne as RF. Thats why RF is chasing Wells. yeah its complicated, but Wells comes away a good guy and Thawne is the villain from the comics. but, the "Episode 123" angle is interesting. JSA spinoff coming?
  7. they cOULD go that way, tying the two series together. But, why? In Hollywood, that opens a can of rights worms. IMO it was just a casting stunt using a Star Wars star again for the role, keeping the fans happy.
  8. I got a headache remembering all the dumb story lines over the past 50 years for that poor girl!'
  9. the show seems to be saying that RF acting as Wells created the Star Labs explosion in order to create Flash so RF could train Flash into running fast enough to send him home to the future, right? But, Barry was in his office when the chemicals (mixed with the explosion's energy) spilled on him. Theres no way that was planned. Flash was an accident, just like the comics. Barry almost went even IN Central City that day, having been with Arrow just beforehand. anyway, the confusing thing is that the writers are always 3 steps ahead of us. Knowing what we THINK is going to happen and planning twists in other directions all the time. Must be kinda frustrating for writers today having to deal with trying to stay ahead of fans as sophisticated with plot devices as they are!
  10. I think the device used to suck Wells life force, memories and brains AND shape shift Thawnes face was a bit much. Did he bring it with him in his super suit? And feels like a parallel to Firestorm too. but, good series.
  11. the lead actress was the daughter of the hospital director on Masters of Sex. She had some very memorable scenes…
  12. Alexandria has been great so far… Im feeling a bit sad for Deanna. She really is a good person, but too soft after living so safely for so long. She's just realizing that her "new group" of talented guests has their shiite together and does what must be done, and her days of running her own thing are coming to an end.
  13. I think it was just a very dark image, for mood, a serious tine. heres a brightened up version of it. albeit with BLONDE hair! Cmon!
  14. Jack Kirby pleaded with Stan to get the comics on TV. Especially his greatest creation Spider-Man! (Chuck ---I just couldn't resist! We were going there soon anyway.) : )
  15. I remember when a lonely 9.0 was the top copy. Doesn't seem that long ago. Still a great book.
  16. Must be a 9.6 otherwise. It's too obvious to not have factored in the grade. How many 9.2s are there now?
  17. I think the Ras offer was in the cards. No way he kills Ollie. In this TV reality I guess Ollie fills in for Batman in regards to Ras plans for the future. WIll we ever see a Talia? Was there ever a Nissa in the comics?? also, isn't raw concerned that somebody resurrected Ollie? Or was that on Ras orders??
  18. So Atom is going to be Iron Man and not shrink?

    Gotham

I don't mind her intensity, or her skills as a "formidable criminal mastermind" vieing for control of the City… but all of that was totally out of character for what she did last night. That bought her nothing but a little time, and more pain. She has little leverage anyway… her only play was to kill that guy behind the desk, sweet-talk the bodyguards, and take over --- and deal with the boss later on.
  20. how about when each character just sauntered into the STAR Labs control room! Like its a Starbucks or a 7-11 thats open 24/7.. Don't they have to go through security? or even a series of locked doors on that massive building? Have we ever even seen the front door? or are they all given access cards? This always bugs me, like in movies where people knock on apartment doors. Most buildings have to announce people from the lobby, or keep their street doors locked!

What Fish did jumped the shark. Third possibility? More like 300th possibility. Killing that guy and taking over was her next move, not doing what she did. Still has plenty of parts to lose. Stupid writing.
  22. feels like the show is at the same crossroads the comic faced and has gone through: No more wandering around scrounging for food and shelter, fighting to survive zombie attacks, and dealing with crazy greedy living people and groups…. now on to re-creating civilization…. (plus Negan eventually, of course). So many readers have complained about the new direction the book has taken since finding Alexandria, and stopped reading. The rest of us still read on… but, I for one (while still caring about the direction Kirkman takes and want to see more of the new world out there) do feel the new "political" and social reality each arc deals with is a very different book than the first 75 issues of the Waking Dead story. (Take the current storyline dealing with a police and judicial case of did the punishment fit the crime? and a possible assassination of the Mayor.) So if the TV show follows the book, and viewers are treated to less and less survival, and more and more farming, picnics and community building, I wonder if ratings will slide. Watching survivors rebuild society just isn't as exciting as what has come before and set the show apart from other TV series.
  23. Warehouse find many years ago. Later issues were found in multiples, but the earliest issues were in much less supply.
