It really depends on your budget and if you want to stay in the immediate area. Last year I stayed a bit south at a great place for $90 a night with free parking and a breakfast but it was a 15 minute drive to and from. I've stayed at the Hyatt and the Sheraton and they are nice with a walkway to and from the convention which is nice if it rains. Orbitz has both of those in the $200 a night range but remember it doesn't include parking which is expensive in the area so you will probably add $40 a night to park. I have not had much issues with walking around in a small group at night but some have reported it being sketchy as you get away from the immediate area surrounding the convention center so keep that in mind when you see cheap parking 4 or 5 blocks away.
Yeah ive heard the same. Im def wanting to stay within the intermediate area. Just didnt know if they did a "sponsered hotel" like Heroes does with the westin.

We were there Friday and Saturday. Picked up 3 four color duck books to fill some holes, a sketch book cover by Dan Parent with Betty and Veronica (my first ever sketch book), and bought a 1967 Fillmore poster with Pink Floyd which was a complete impulse buy. We had a great time and we are already planning for next year.
You see the vendor that had all the concert flyers etc? They had some REALLY nice stuff.

For those only going one day - I still see no advance one day ticket, what do you suggest for smoothest entry? Get there an hour early, get in line & there will be tickets to purchase with cash at the door?
Yeah just get there a little before the con. They usually have several boothes set up for single day tickets. Its a smooth ordeal. Saturdays are busier though.

My gut tells me there will be some blow outs happening this year (other then keys obviously). Stuff has started to get tough on E-Bay and I'd think people would be up for making some deals on the bulk books. Let us know how it goes.
Would be nice but i think if thats the case alot of big dealers will scoop up inventory on friday morning etc before the show. We will see. This has been a good year for more monetarily so im hoping to spend some money

My wife, son, and I went to our shop in Wilmington. 8 books each so ended up with 24. Son got some good kids stuff to read on. After that we hit up the theater and saw dr strange 2. Was a fun comic book day for us all around.

Rip to the legend. There are so few left today that made the kind of imprint Adams etc did.

My last experience was terrible at Bargain Shop. I found a stack of about 30 ASM issues I needed and they processed to look up the price for every issue on eBay. Took forever and of course some of the books tripled in price. I passed on them.
sounds about right. Its def a pawn shop mentality in there. Are you local to the area? i need more folks to talk comics with here

I 2nd Memory Lane. They have a smaller back issue section, but are going to have great wall books/keys.
Jacksonville does have The Comic Book Room / Bargain shop. I have found a few things here and there. But sometimes their prices are way high.
i honestly cant stand that place. I was told to leave the store years ago for asking about his pricing. Wont buy anything there. Hes basically preying on the military.

Ive gone to several since the pandemic started and honestly have no issue going again

Sold my Something is killing the children 1-15 for 1500.00 dollars recently. Not bad for a 70 $ investment :):)

How so? I literally learned what a non-binary / hermaphrodite was from reading Sandman. Forget the exact issue number but it was part of A Game of You (# 32 - # 37).
This was an integral part of Sandman characters in stories told literally 30 years ago.
i mean thats great and all but this isnt that. Its pandering. Thats my opinion. Not gonna go back and forth.

ed piskors podcast is good. And Marvel Method with Method Man was enjoyable

Sadly no. I live in jacksonville about 25 minutes away from emerald isle and the closest shops are in wilmington or new bern. The shop in New Bern doesnt have a whole lot as far as back issues outside of moderns. Memory Lane in wilmington is a great shop but caters more towards new books. Fanboys in Wilmington has a decent back issue section though. Let me know if you need anything while your in the area!
