  1. That Action # 2 is an awesome book! My only question is, why would it be seperated from the # 1? Truly, those two books belong TOGETHER, all financial considerations aside.
  2. Some recent additions... My first Will Eisner cover, but probably not my last.... Thanks to Andrew (GACollectibles) for this one...will be a nice mid-grade "placeholder" until I can upgrade.... And thanks to our own Ciorac for opening the vault door on this one..... and let's round it out with a beauty from Canada, the highest graded copy of either edition, courtesy of ebay...
  3. I love that cover! I especially like Richie's copy of that book. Maybe if I go back and re-read the Action # 1 thread again, I can glean a few pointers on how to best defraud Mr. Evans out of his copy and rationalize the whole sordid affair away with a clear conscience. (thumbs u
  4. Sometimes, a book can be judged entirely by its cover....thanks Bill!
  5. You know, the more I see this, the more I think I will keep it. Sorry Roy. Nice book Roy. Gee Rich, what does a guy have to do to pry one of your Subbys away from you? offer him a sticky bun I think I'll leave that to Paul.

  7. So, let me get this straight (or gay): Paul is thinking of his meat while Richard in turn thinks about Paul's soft, sticky buns?
  8. Thanks for making the Jo-Jo # 8 available, its going to a good home... (thumbs u I'm glad you got it. I know where it will be now for a very long time. That's the plan sir, that's the plan....

  10. Ditto. Brent was willing to give me a decent discount during set-up and I spaced as well. I liked the book in person, thought it was a 6.5/7.0 with great appeal, but then I just went back into the boxes looking for "high grade" all the while passing up that beautiful Schomburg cover. Geez, I'm such a '....
  11. And to think I had first shot at the book before anyone else, and passed it up.... doh! doh! doh! doh! doh!
  12. Stupid question here, but I've seen some folks post that they are able to view their grades and status of their submissions online.....but can't seem to find anything on the main CGC website that would permit this. Can someone either confirm or deny this rumor?
  13. Let me guess, the decimal point in the amount was one spot to the left....
  14. you should be excited, that is a great looking copy... It is. And I didn't mean to rain on your parade Roy, it is indeed a very cool copy that you'll hopefully enjoy for years. (thumbs u
  15. wow, that is a GREAT book... JTM missed this Nope. Used to own it. But I have a hard time keeping CRM/OW paged books in my permanent collection. Holding out for a 9.0 copy with better pages. you are such a HG snob

  17. So YOU'RE the one that bought the Daring # 5...I thought about that one for a while...apparently, I thought about it too long. Congrats on the pick-up...I envy you!!
  18. Oh snap you just stumbled on a gem. Parker PM'd me about that when it was on EBay and it ended up at what around $1,200. The seller should of had it graded because its now a $5,000+ book and Parker's is almost worthless. Billy sell it before its value falls so far you'd be lucky to get guide for it. Yeah, I was sure you at least saw it on ebay (figured you were bidding on it). It was a gamble. considering the sellers scans had the book so far over you couldn't see the spine on the fc scan. I figure I only won it because of the risk involved. It was right at my max bid too. The funny thing is, the seller had some other Caps (more common ones) listed as well that went at prices that were even greater risks IMO. The fact is, I will be selling it. I love the book and collect GA Caps, but it obviously has a lot of potential, and there are a few other books I would like to own more at this time. And there will always be the satisfaction of knowing I did own it. Awesome book Mike. Congrats! Sometimes I'm glad the Subbys I collect don't get nearly the attention of their Cap counterparts....but since we're posting newly acquired, high grade/top census, black cover, commie-smashing Atlas books......
  19. Jeff is in the Adventure hizouse!!!!!!! Great book buddy! Great book Jeff. Too bad you didn't kiss that Fedex guy, nor that there wasn't someone around with a camera to capture the moment....the picture would have been a perfect compliment to Richie's toilet reading of the All Select # 1. Both pics would be iconic, and belong in the GA Forum's Gallery of Geekdom.
  20. I can'y believe you would say that! That is one of my grail covers If that's the case, Richie might sell it to you at a Grail-type multiple....just to be rid of the hideous thing.
  21. Schommy, very nice! (Destroyer is one of my favorites, but I only have a Mystic 6 at the moment...it has 2 Destroyer stories ). Nice. What's the grade on the Subby?
  22. Those Battlefront covers are great Trooper, I hope you post them in the 2nd Annual Memorial Day Post-A-Thon later this year.
  23. No upper lip and a mean, toothy overbite....is the girl in the background running from the bullets or the cowboy's repulsiveness? I for one like Syd Shores artwork....have several nice Shores covers in my Subby run.
  24. Great book Richard! (worship) Whenever I see the Carl Bark's masterpiece "An Embarassment of Riches", I think of Richie and his Timely Collection.
  25. Thank you....coming from you sir, that's indeed a compliment. (thumbs u
