Congrats on the Tec 29's
-
Did you win?
Nope
As for how far I got...the event I was in had 1700 people and I got knocked out in about 700th place. Not too bad for my first WSOP bracelet event. Planning on playing in a couple more before the month is over
-
where you been ron!In GPA it says that an unrestored Tec 30 in 7.0 sold for $5,000 in May. Does anyone know anything about this sale? It seems like the steal of the decade.Mike
It sold in Heritage last month...seemed like a fair price to me though
Maybe should have gone for a tiny bit more
Playing poker. Just got back from the WSOP in vegas!

The graded one I got in the mail today. The ungraded one my dad bought from William Uthe (or however you spell the German scam artists name), and I plan to sell it.
Very nice!

i diagree with some of the list but Detective 27 comming in at like the 26 most important comicbook of all time I couldnt see and claiming Tec 38 to be more important?
If I follow what I think hes saying is that the first app of a sidekick[robin] is more important than the 1st app of Batman.
What he was trying to do was rate comics as to their importance to the medium, not value.
By that criteria there is some basis to make the claim that Detective 38 had more influence over the comics that came after it then Detective 27 did. Whether there was a Batman or not, there would definitely be more superheroes. But if not for the success of Robin we probably would not have seen nearly as many sidekicks. Does that argument hold water? Maybe, maybe not. But it certainly shows me that DC did everything in its power to hold Marvel back...without Robin there would be no Toro!
I'd argue that without Robin, Batman may have been a second-tier character who didn't survive the Golden Age. Robin gave readers someone to identify with and gave Batman someone to interact with. Batman as a solitary avenger is a limited concept. Superman had Lois Lane, Doc Savage had his aides, etc.
That said, the bronze to present interpretation of Alfred makes Robin superfluous as a character as he perform same or similar story functions but is a better character overall.
Well said...both of you (thumbs u

Both highly desirable issues sold at Heritage for approx. $20,000 in 2008.
Which one would you choose, and why?
No brainer here. Batman 1. It's ten times the book the Marvel 9 is
Yup I agree with Bill (thumbs u

I had the good fortune of pulling up to the house today at the same time as the USPS truck.First book out of the box was this.
I was thinking/hoping for a 6.0 when I submitted it,since the highest on the census is a 5.5
What a book Russ

consider it done! Thanks for the compliments guys.I feel almost as cool as Roy now.
Just kiddin' Roy.
You don't have curly hair hanging down all the way to your arse, thus, you cannot hope to be as cool as Roy.
yeah, but after I put a beating on him in Chicago, he will have a #4 cut!

I haven't played a game in 19-20 months so you might just be right (Sept 07 if I remember correctly).
Oh, and I weigh more than I ever have.
Maybe we should postpone till next year?
I have lost 10 pounds (with 10 more to go)...
I have been playing weekly at my old high school, with the current High School coach (that played college ball in the NE)...
they have this cool netted ball return gizmo now, that sets up under the goal, and you shoot and it fires the ball back to you, etc...
we went head to head last Sunday in 3 point shooting... he said no one on his current hs team can best him total from all 5 spots...
results:
right corner... me: 5 of 10, chris 7 of 10
right middle...me 9 of 10 (I smoked it), chris 6 of 10
top middle...me 4 of 10 (for some reason, I never shoot well there), chris 7 of 10
left middle...me 7 of 10, chris 5 of 10 (old man was getting tired )
left corner...me 7 of 10, chris 6 of 10
final result: me 32 of 50, chris, HS head ball coach, former NCAA player: 31 of 50
bring a pair of clippers
Let's run some ball in Diego Rick...bring your kicks...I'll see if there's a YMCA or gym nearby...
Count me in!! (thumbs u

Wow!!

Another Micro-con purchase.Rumored to be the Overstreet copy.Wish Bob would've taken better care of his books because without the chip missing it would be hard to top.
Wow! Nice book buddy

Here's another early Church sci-fi cover that sort of rhymes with the Superworld #3. Not as cool (tough to beat Paul), but I'm a big fan of the primitive artwork. Screams "early Golden Age" to me.
Wow!!! I love the early sci-fi exciting covers. Tough books to find

i don't collect the star titles, seem more like centaurs anyway, or the feature funnies, as nowhere in that lineage is there a s'hero appearance, but i am after all the rest of the cheslers. now missing only a dynamic and a punch. i've shot the group with the holes in the appropriate place.
Wow that is an amazing accomplishment Billy
Now we gotta help you find those last two (thumbs u
