  1. Just got my restored copy of Daredevil #1 back from CGC after restoration by Matt Nelson at Classics Incorporated. Matt had estimated an 8.0 MP grade but it only came back a 7.0 MP. Here are before and after pics of the front and back covers: Front cover before.... And after Back cover before.... And after The restoration included color touch, pieces added, tear seals and cleaning. I'm still pretty happy with the book although I wish had gotten the 8.0 that Matt predicted.
  2. I won't have these books back for another week or two, but I just got the grades online for a couple of early April submissions. I obviously still have some work to do on my grading skills as the majority of these books came in lower than expected. I was spot on on a few but the majority were .5 to 1.0 lower in grade than I had predicted. The highlights of these submissions: 1) Magic Comics #19 CGC 4.0 (only the 2nd copy ever graded...1st was the Mile High copy) (nailed this one) 2) Marvel Spotlight #5 (1st Ghost Rider) CGC 6.5 and CGC 6.0. I'll be selling the 6.0 copy. 3) Conan the Barbarian #3 CGC 6.0 Double Cover 4) Strange Tales #135 CGC 8.0 (1st Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD) 5) Strange Tales #138 CGC 9.2 (guessed 9.4 on this one) 6) Incredible Hulk #4 CGC 3.5 7) Wonder Woman #205 CGC 7.5 Double Cover But this is the one that made the whole submission very worth while..... 8) Amazing Spider-Man Annual #7 CGC 9.8! (ties with one other copy for top census out of 102 copies submitted) (I had guessed 9.4 on this one)
  3. Christian......it looks like you're becoming the new double cover king. I have a bunch but I don't think I can keep up with you. Sweet books!
  4. O M F G! I just had to pick myself up off the floor. What a great setup and what gorgeous books!
  5. Go easy on him, Mike. He's still reading the owner's manual on how to turn on the scanner.
  6. I'll have to check this sale out just to see how much I should sell my pulps for when I do get around to selling them.
  7. I was going through a lot of 10 Superman issues I won in an auction last night and found a double cover Superman #174 in the group. I'll take a pic and put it on here tomorrow. (thumbs u
  8. Big kudos to Peter Palmer for a nice ASM #100 slab. Thanks Adam!
  9. I have a complete Amazing Spider-Man run from 1 through the present of which 226 of them are slabbed. My eventual goal is to have all of them slabbed including all 6 Giant-Size and all of the annuals. I'll be paying off the Amazing Fantasy #15 sometime next week (my 1st copy) and should have it in-hand later this month. I also have complete runs of Spectacular Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, Spider-Man, Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man and just about any other series run he's been in. Yeah, I'm crazed.
  10. And a 59 year old CGC 9.6 copy to boot!
  11. Big kudos back to you Bill for quick payment on a big lot of Thor issues. (thumbs u
  12. You can send THIS Bronze garbage my way any time you want. Nice books!
  13. Everything about BATMANFAN's initial sales thread looked suspicious to me. That's why I didn't give any of his books a second thought. It appears that some boardies' deals worked out OK but now it looks like other deals have gone sour. If it smells like a rat it's a rat. Go with your gut instinct and don't be blinded by the pretty books.
  14. My current "comic room" will be turning back into a bedroom soon so we can sell the house. Most of the 50,000 comics (except for the CGC stuff) will be moving offsite to a local storage unit soon. Once we move to Oklahoma later this year, I will have to post pics of the new comic room, which I hope will be bigger and better than ever.
  15. Where did you find the round Spidey cushion (on the chair)?
  16. Big kudos to tofer118 for 3 nice ASM slabs. Double boxed and wrapped in extra bubble wrap. Thanks!
  17. The MMW book is squarebound, right? If so, squarebound books have covers glued on, so it's normal for a squarebound multiple cover book not to have it's extra covers glued on. I have a Marvel Triple Action #1 (squarebound) with it's second cover not attached. Yeah, it is squarebound and I knew they were just glued on. I just wasn't sure if CGC would slab something like that or not. For all they know, I could have just removed the cover from another copy and stuck it with that one.
