  1. Fantastic Four #130, Hulk #160 and Thor #208 are a few other possibilities.
  2. Cap #158 was from Feb. 1973 (yellow cover).
  3. Filled up the tank with regular for $1.99/gal today. This actually IS comic related. Just bought this SUV last Monday so I could load up more long boxes of comic books when I sell at shows in OKC, Tulsa, Dallas, Wichita or Amarillo. I could only fit about 13 long boxes in my Bonneville but should be able to fit 20+ in this vehicle. Paid cash for it too so still no car payments.
  4. Izzat the recalled version on the Mad Millennium edition? I never knew that it was ever recalled, now I need to check my copy... Thanks for the info. Thanks for the reminder. I have 2 copies and checked both. One regular version and one recalled version.
  5. I don't really know a percentage, but I can tell you that the greater majority of these issues that I've examined in person do NOT have the Marvel Pizzazz insert in them. I have purchased 4 more so I'm now up to 27.
  6. Besides Jim (jmg3637), who are the big Dell Four Color collectors in here? I'm currently taking offers on a small lot of 52 Dell Four Color books I'm selling on consignment. The lot includes issues #12,19,29,46,51 and 57 and a few other early Barks Donald Ducks. If anyone has any serious interest in buying the lot send me a PM. There are 866 comics in this collection which includes a lot of Dell westerns and Tarzan, misc. Gold Key runs and an almost complete run of Classics Illustrateds (1-169) and over half are original issues.
  7. I have a few of those myself. They certainly bring back memories for me.
  8. Since this thread got a kickstart from jools&jim, I'll post the updated list of books that could have a Marvel Pizzazz insert in them: Marvel Pizzazz Inserts (41 total) (All are from Jan.-April 1978) Amazing Spider-Man 176,177,178,179 Captain America 217,218,219,220 Conan the Barbarian 47 Fantastic Four 190,191,192,193 Incredible Hulk 219,220,221,222 Invaders 24,25,26,27 Marvel Tales 87,88,89,90 Marvel Team-Up 65,66,67,68 Marvel Two-in-One 36,37,38,39 Star Wars 7,8,9,10 Thor 267,268,269,270 I believe I now have 23 of the 41 issues.
  9. I normally don't go after Westerns, but these were too sweet to pass up and got them for a song. Picked this one up too.
  10. Good idea. I've always found more comic books at flea markets and garage sales. Occasionally you get lucky and find a shortbox full at antique malls but that's probably few and far between.
  11. Greggy posted so many Savage She-Hulk #1s I thought I was in an infinite loop for awhile there.
  12. Some sweet copies. Thanks for the kind words and the great work you did on these with short notice! The 2 Howard the Ducks were previously slabbed 8.0's that Joey fixed up along with the rest. Joey definitely does great work.
  13. Nice smooth transaction with James on his purchase of a Captain America #100 from my latest sales thread. Thanks again!
  14. I was a dealer at a small comicon in Tulsa yesterday and towards the end of the day a gentleman started talking to the dealer next to me. Apparently, the dealer had been trying to contact this guy for some time to buy a poster from him. As they talked my interest peaked. This guy used to be a radio announcer back in the early 1990s and he told us a short story about how he came about having these posters. I asked if he had an extra one with him and he said yes. So both the other dealer and I were able to obtain 1 copy of this poster. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
  15. Michael made a purchase from my latest sales thread and the transaction couldn't have gone any smoother. Quick payment and great communication. Thanks again!
  16. Captain Marvel #26 was May 1973. War is Hell #9 was Oct. 1974 so you are correct.
