  1. Its a personal problem and you want to make a big thing out of it I think you're the one hoping to make a big thing out of it.
  2. Here's a wild thought... could they have been buying books they wanted for their collection, instead of just buying stuff to flip? I believe that - I'm often reminded how lucky we are on these boards in terms of knowledge and understanding of the market compared to the vast majority of collectors. To most, story and emotional connection are still a priority when selecting books. I'm not sure, but I think you're saying how smart we are, and how stupid everyone else is. If that's the case, count me among the vast majority of collectors who buy it because we like it. Remember, you need collectors to sell your undesirable books to. Even if you're just a weekend nickel and dime flipper, it's in your interest to encourage and develop these buyers, not belittle them. I didn't read any of that into what he said. I don't see how it was the least bit derogatory or demeaning.
  3. Picked these 2 up yesterday as part of a local Craigslist buy.
  4. You finally got one? Mike, I totally missed this post. So sorry about that. Yup. This is my first full fanzine. I think you and I purchased from the same ebay seller where I bought his unused cover, and you may have grabbed his full fanzine. Get it graded. Just make sure it's not higher than a 9.6. Bend one corner before you send it in.
  5. In Oklahoma, no less!? Yep. There are still a few of us non-conservative types in Oklahoma.
  6. Now that is quite cool. A double cover price variant? Now that HAS to be quite rare.
  7. Picked these up earlier today at a local Half Price Books store. y
  8. Had a blast at OAFCON this past weekend. Didn't sell many of my own books, but did sell a couple of nice slabs and sold 5 long boxes of old Classics Illustrateds, Dells and Gold Keys on consignment. Got to see a bunch of my fellow comic geeks, both collectors and dealers, and met a few new people too. Anthony Tollin, a colorist for DC back in the 70s and 80s, was gracious enough to sign 5 various DC comics for me that he had worked on. Also picked up a bunch of Adam Hughes cover books, 5 new J Scott Campbell cover books and got to see a lot of nice old Golden Age books including some early Caps. Plus Steve Borock paid us a visit for the weekend. Good times.
  9. I highly recommend adding longinus633_4 to your blocked bidders list. New eBay buyer (feedback of 4) who doesn't read the main body of text in your listing then blames you the seller for not listing specific flaws in the header of the listing. I clearly stated in the main body of text and showed scans of a water stain on a comic but now I'm catching hell because it wasn't listed in the header of the listing. He also refuses to send the book back for a full refund because of the "slow post office".
  10. Picked this up this morning at a local garage sale for a buck. Some great Neal Adams art in there. Also grabbed a decent copy of Thor Annual 6 for $2.80 at a local shop.
  11. My Hulk #212 35 cent price variant is on it's way back from CGC. Coming back 6.5 which I'm pleased with. Scheduled to arrive next Monday. I'll post a pic after it shows up.
  12. No idea, but did they sell the Marvel Pizzazz magazine in the UK? If they did, I would assume some pence copies of the comic books would have had the insert in them.
  13. I will be a dealer there again this year. Always a great 2-day show with a ton of comics there.
