  1. I have had too many sold item sit at a UPS and USPS distribution centers so tracking #'s are a godsend to avoid the wrath of a buyer. It also eliminates the negative on slow shipping comment that has gotten numerous people kicked off as sellers. I only use priority mail flat rate envelopes now as it comes with tracking and insurance for up to $50 for free. People complain about the price being $5.60 for a single book to be shipped sometimes but it is the peace of mind that is worth the price. Plus if you are a power seller and top rated seller, it only costs you $4.95 which is the break even point almost. Stopped selling to Canada after some rare Zenescope variants never showed up but then the buyer magically had the same copies of the books to sell and eBay and paypal would not do anything about it. why not just use first class for a single book? cheaper for both buyer and shipper and tracking is free. side note, why do some people still not print postage through ebay? Personally, I ship 1-2 comics via 1st Class Mail for $2.95 and 3-5 comics via Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope for $5.95 from my eBay store within the USA. And I normally ship comics to Canada and all other international locations via 1st Class Mail International envelope. And all of my eBay sales are shipped and postage paid through eBay as well. 1st Class is way cheaper and great for cheap books internationally. If you are shipping $$ books 1st class you wont do it forever trust me. Also you better protect the heck out of your books if ship 1st class because its going to take alot longer to get there and will handled more. 1st class has gone up considerably since the USPS updated their shipping in Jan. I still get hate email from Canadians about the change in shipping, but I calmly explain to them it ain't my fault. 1st Class US I just wont do for all types of issues, but mainly because I put alot of cardboard when I ship my comics and the weight goes up. Its always a cheap option for 1 or 2 books you dont care about if they get beat up. I use pretty thick cardboard for protection. And if it's a higher dolllar shipment I only ship via box. I rarely if ever have a problem with damage when shipping internationally and they usually get the shipment pretty fast.

  3. Anybody ever see any Archie multi-packs? I picked up 2 sealed bags of 4 of the Archie Christian comics at a local flea market this morning (Archie's Parables, Archie and Mr. Weatherbee and 2 other comics). They appear to be in NM/NM+ condition. Here are front and back pics:
  4. Thanks guys! A fellow boardie (Hado) told me awhile ago how to add books to my sig line once and now I forget.. My Stuff ..... My Preferences...Signature block (at bottom).....import HTML code from Photobucket.
  5. Haha thanks! Thankfully it's not my first forum rodeo. I just like the people who choose all 20 and then just add "sweet" at the bottom. Or "junk" or "drek". Haha I've been lurking here for about a week now and I couldn't figure out for the life of me what "drek" was. I could tell by the context it meant bad, but I actually had to Google it. I felt like I was in middle school again trying to keep up with the newest slang term. They're normally loving junk or drek comments since they're usually related to Greggy's posts. And we all love Greggy.

  7. Good luck with the house offer. Hope they accept!
  8. 'Tis the whole spirit of what this hobby is... And I do NOT kid. We all do it. This. I get my thrills finding dirty cheap buys. Even if I already have it, I can always trade it or sell it to add more to my collection. Oh boy.....now my body is tingling for some local scavenging.....I think I shall go to the flea market today. I shall post a report later if I find something!! Nice spawn finds. That cover never gets old. Oh-- totally agree. You guys inspired me to go long box diving at a few garage sales. Treasure Awaits! Right on cue, I went to a local Vintage Stock store yesterday to buy some comic backing boards. As usual, I quickly fanned through some comics in their top bins. I was both shocked and pleasantly surprised to find this: It's definitely not a NM/NM+ copy but still a nice find. With my 10% subscriber discount I paid a whopping $3.14 for it.
  9. By "local dollar store" do you mean like Dollar General or one of the other dollar chain stores? If so, I didn't know they even sold comics.
  10. Now he's hitting us with old #1 issues in 9.8.
  11. I'll join the "club" with these books. Just picked up the Marvel Presents #5 off of eBay in a cheap group lot. I don't think the seller even knew it was a price variant. It's rough (about a Good) but hey, it's still a price variant. The only other price variant I'm aware that I still have is a DC Comics Presents #74 that's a 95 cent Canadian price variant.
  12. Too bad I'm broke right now. You have a lot of ASM duplicates I'd love to add to my collection.
  13. I used to be a big fan of Greg Norman (the golfer) who was also known as "The Shark". As far as my avatar goes, Jenn Sterger is just one of the hottest chicks on the planet.
  14. That G.I. Combat looks a lot better than a 3.0. Why's the grade so low?
  15. Yes, and the overall grade is normally the better of the 2 covers (usually the inside cover). But I believe it's been brought up in here before that that's not always the case (meaning that the overall grade is not always the better of the two). Not exactly sure why that is though unless the higher grade is the outside cover. As far as I know, the main grade is always the grade of the interior cover. The reason I've heard is that if you tear off the outer cover, you'd then end up with a book with the same grade ... Yeah, that's what I seem to remember too. Makes perfect sense.

  17. Move away from San Francisco so you can keep the baby and the books.
  18. I'm officially turning off this thread. It gives me a headache every time I come in here.
  19. I posted this in 2 other threads but I'll add it to this one as well since I'm so friggin' happy with it. I've pretty much confirmed that this is the highest graded ASM #129 double cover in existence.
  20. Just arrived about 15-20 minutes ago:
  21. I really, REALLY dislike having to deal with smartass brats whose word isn't worth the pixels on the screen, but I will respect the mores of the board and not put him on the probation list if I cannot do it without actually selling him the book. I will not, however, sell the book to him. He can find it elsewhere. I find it extremely distasteful that this "gentleman" can avoid the probation list at the 11th hour, but if those are the rules, I will respect them. This guy clearly has no respect for this board, basic manners, or even his own word. Remember when a man's word was as good as gold? I don't, because I was born in the '70s. I've heard that it was really cool, though. I was born in the '50s (1957) and it was really cool. (thumbs u I often talk about how rare honesty and common decency are nowadays. It's automatic for me to hold open a door for anybody (not just women) and I've heard people say they don't see that much any more. If I'm at a grocery store and I have 12 items and somebody behind me has 2 I let them go first. It's really sad that common courtesy, common decency and just plain old honesty are no longer that common. Sounds anecdotal. Maybe you prefer: Sounds like it suffers from both selection bias and confirmation bias Whatever. Sure it's anecdotal in nature. It just sounded like you were diminishing what I was saying.
