  1. One of my favorite bands in the early '60s (yes, I'm THAT old) was the Dave Clark Five. Maybe we should call the top 5 in the CGC registry the Dave Stevens Five.
  2. Yeah, the inside cover is the one-shot cover.
  3. Now that IS a rarity. Never seen anything like it before in my life.
  4. It is two different covers, right? 2 covers all the way. Did you check the pics??? In most cases that I'm aware of, CGC will give an overall grade of the book based on the BEST cover (not necessarily the outer cover).
  5. Now THAT we need to see a picture of.
  6. Yeah, I bought just a few Dave Stevens books from Mitch too.
  7. Liking your room very much Are your book stored in those filing cabinets? Yes. My "main collection" of higher grade Marvels is in 3 separate 4-drawer lateral file cabinets in my office with books to submit to CGC in another 2-drawer lateral file cabinet. All of my other raw books are in 10-11 standard 4-drawer file cabinets in another room with another 40 or so long boxes stacked on top of those. In addition to that, all of my CGC graded books (about 600), 13 boxes of magazines and about 18 boxes of ungraded books are at my storage unit.
  8. Wow! That's awesome.I saw the 1953,1954 date and thought it was a second print. I just did an eBay search and a seller has one listed as a first printing but it's not. It doesn't have the R colophon. FINE, ILL CHANGE MY LISTINGS, UGH UGH UGH That was you? I didn't know.

  10. Cool printing plate! Where did you pick that up from??? I actually picked it up from someone here on the boards sometime in the last 2 years. And I think the Archie piece came from skypinkblu (Sharon).
  11. After finally moving to our new permanent home in January, I finally found some time to display some of my comic related stuff in my new office. Enjoy the pics. 12. How 'bout instead of sullying a thread of ultra-rare, impossible-to-find books, you take these common error books somewhere else... So.... what your trying to say is... being that this error book is common, I can assume you have one in your collection. How am I tarnishing this thread. I'm presenting comic book related information to share and also to learn about. Thats what I feel this site is for. If you don't like what I upload to share you have every right to ignore my posts. I don't come on here to impress what I own, I search this site to learn about books I never knew existed. Maybe if you spent 30 seconds doing some research, you'd realize this book is blatantly common. Sure I could ignore your posts, but then if every random clown posted books like these, this wouldn't be a thread containing information. New posters to the boards are looking for information. You, azzhat, are the clown. Newb, maybe. But a life prevents me from posting 20,000 times.... Hopefully, you are so damned busy with your "life" that you'll never post in here again.

Well, you're certainly doing a great job of ignoring OUR posts.
  14. How 'bout instead of sullying a thread of ultra-rare, impossible-to-find books, you take these common error books somewhere else... That was both insulting to the poster and totally uncalled for.
  15. You might be the same person I've spoken with before thru Craigslist. I used to be in Midwest City and moved into OKC in January. Mike
  16. What part of Oklahoma are you in? I'm in OKC.
  17. A local thrift store ran a craigslist ad yesterday saying that just had got a "comic collection" in. So I ran down there this morning thinking I would see about 4 or 5 long boxes of comics in there. To my surprise, there were actually 48 long boxes of comics! I decided to be a trooper and dig through every one of them thinking I might find at least a few goodies. I came home with 76 comics at $1.00 each and found a rather eclectic assortment of titles to choose from. Nothing major here but did find a bunch of #1 issues from the 80s and early 90s. Here's a list of just a few of these books (many of which I had never seen before): Adventures in the Mystwood #1 (Blackthorne, 1986) Fringe #1 (Caliber, 1990) Nightmare Theater #2 and #4 (Chaos, 1997, Berni Wrightson covers) ESPers #1 (Image, 1997, hot blonde on cover) Wildstar: Sky Zero #1 Gold Logo (Image, 1993) Comet #1 (Red Circle, 1983) Mighty Crusaders #3 and #4 (Red Circle, 1983) Archer and Armstrong #1 (Valiant, 1992) Eternal Warrior #1 (Valiant, 1992) Friends #1 (Renegade Press, 1987) Metacops #1 (Monster Comics, 1991) Oktoberfest Comics #1 (Now and Then, 1976) Omicron #1 (Pyramid Comics, 1987) Open Season #1 (Renegade Press, 1986) Pete The P.O.'d Postal Worker #1 (Sharkbait Press, 1997) Rick Raygun #1 (Stop Dragon Comics, 1986) Slacker Comics #1 (Slave Labor Graphics, 1994) Speed Racer #1 (Now Comics, 1993) Let me know if you want to see scans of any of these.
  18. Went to a local garage sale this morning that advertised comics. Didn't buy any comics though. The guy wanted $60 for an ASM V2 #36 but it had a few spine ticks and a water spot on the back cover so I passed on that one. I did pick up a Castle Grayskull shell however and this Batman figure: Paid $25 for the pair. Good deal or not? I know little about the toy side of things. The Castle Grayskull is just the shell (nothing else with it) and the Batman figure is missing a rope or hoop or something like that. I did take some pics of some Transformers and He-Man figures that I might go back and pick up. I wanted to post pics and see if you guys think they're worth picking up or not. If you see something here I should grab, post here and let me know.
  19. Always has been as far as I know.
