  1. I just wanted to demonstrate that the Bartcode version of the book should be a higher score than the regular edition and suggested that it be about four times greater. You increased the scores for both books to 40 points at 9.2. I think the previous score for the regular edition of Simpsons Comics #1 was 10 points at 9.2. I suggest that you change this one back to 10 at 9.2 and keep the Simpsons Comics #1 Bartcode score where it is right now (40 at 9.2). Also, the Bartcode edition of Simpsons Comics #1 does not exist in the Bongo (Complete) set. Please add it when you get a chance. Thanks for all your help!
  2. You can’t separate the scores for the two? At the moment, the score for the multipack is exactly the same as the regular edition but you did increase both. I was hoping the multipack would increase to the current score with the regular edition staying the same (was 70 for a 9.8 signature). Thanks! I do not have access to weighted scores, only Universal. Can you take a few screen shots of the weighted score table for that issue? Also, keep in mind that I am no longer basing Universal Scores on auction sales.
  3. Were any of you readers of the original Bone comic as they were printed in the 90s? If so, do you remember the Riblet story drawn by Stan Sakai? It was an anthropomorphic tale with five parts that appeared after the letters sections of Bone #31-35 (fit in pretty well with the Rock Jaw storyline). Apparently a colorized version will be included with the Bone: More Tall Tales book that comes out in September. I had almost forgotten about this. I didn’t pay much attention to it at the time so hopefully the color does it justice.
  4. If this is what you see on the “Verify CGC Certification” page, it means that there are no Grader Notes.
  5. Hello, I think the Bartcode variant for Simpson Comics #1 (1993) should have their scores increased (example cert #2686635005). According to my records, they consistently sell for 4 times what the regular cover goes for so I would multiply the current Simpsons Comics #1 score by 4. Unfortunately, GPA never made a note about which sales were for the Bartcode variants until CGC included the multipack label last October. There have been two 9.8 sales in the last year for unmarked Universal Bartcode variants in 9.8: $796 on 5/30/22 (0002617015) and $835 on 3/5/23 (3856876004). Regular versions in 9.8 generally go for $125-$175 in the same time frame. There have only been two sales of marked Bartcode variants: 8.0 Signature Series for $200 on 1/2/23 (2725533010) and 9.0 Signature Series for $300 on 1/7/23 (2725533011). I’m fairly certain that Overstreet won’t have a 9.2 value for this multipack variant so I thought this data would help. Let me know if you have any questions or if I missed anything. Thanks! All variants for #1 show as 40 for 9.2 in Overstreet. I have adjusted the score for that variant and the first run issue accordingly.
  6. Well done! He seems to have gotten a decent amount of “Spider-Bone” requests over the years and usually does them pretty well in his quick sketch style.
  7. Are any of you going to see Jeff this summer during his Dawn of Man tour? He's traveling through Route 66 in April then going to Heroes and SDCC during the summer. I may go to this last stop in Houston at the Bedrock City Con in early October.
  8. You know which forum you’re in, right?
  9. It reprints much of the Thorn comic strips that were originally published in The Lantern (Ohio State’s student newspaper) while Jeff was a student. Some of the strips were reprinted in the Before Bone book that was published in 2008 but that was limited to 500 copies and it would probably be expensive to purchase. You can find the individual strips in the archives of The Lantern somewhere on OSU’s website.
  10. Welcome! Please share whatever you’ve collected or any thoughts on the series…
  11. A bunch of the anomalous price points for Bone books have occurred with one particular seller including the 9.4 you mentioned (he/she also sold a CGC 9.6 of #2 for $2.5k recently). They all appear to be legit sales but still strange considering that another 9.6 was available at the time for half that amount I’ve seen several Bone books that have both done well and done poorly since the show was cancelled. A lack of consistency is the norm unfortunately.
  12. For the record, I’ve seen 24 public sales of Thorn: Tales from the Lantern (raw and slabbed) since the end of 2008. Whenever one is up for auction, I’m always surprised by the amount of the winning bid. BUT, after a couple of years roll by, it always looks like a bargain As far as raw copies go, this is the highest price I’ve seen by over 70% and both copies looked to be about the same grade (the previous high was an eBay BIN in mid to late 2020). Most of the public sales I’ve seen in the past 15 years were for mid to low grade examples. In graded 7.5 and above, I’d say that Thorn is the most valuable Bone book in existence
  13. This is for a raw Thorn Tales from the Lantern :
  14. Well, my bid on the raw Thorn Tales from the Lantern just got buried on Heritage … Good luck to everyone still bidding!
  15. I've never shown this slab before. Was facilitated by dscott at the 2014 Boston Comic-Con. Jeff added a small sketch of Ted which is always appreciated For those who don't know much about the comic series, this was a reprint of #2 done by Image Comics with brand new artwork for the cover. Image distributed #21-27 as first prints and reprinted each issue from #1 to #20. Cartoon Books became the primary publisher once again with issue #28. The back covers of the Image reprints showed the original Cartoon Books covers.
  16. Any of you see the BIN for a Bone #2 CGC 9.6 with Off White-White pages for $2500 on eBay? I renewed my subscription to GPA just to see if it was legit and the sale is on there. It’s so odd considering there’s a 9.6 with the same page designation on eBay for exactly half that price as a BIN/Best Offer
  17. I highly recommend that you find a trade paperback somewhere and give it a shot. Don’t think you’ll regret it
  18. Don't know if any of you remember these being sold in the late 90s but it's one of the ugliest mugs I've ever seen...and I still bought it. Artist sig by Jeff on the bottom is cool at least
  19. For my transgression above, here's one with 4 signatures that I haven't posted before: Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, Amanda Conner, and Jimmy Palmiotti.
  20. Congrats on the grades! I noticed that you said that you’ve “never opened a book” that you purchased. Have you read any of the stories?
  21. I had two last month. One took 23 calendar days from the moment it arrived at CGC, and the other took 9.
  22. Here's the biggest addition to my Bone set from the 2022 Con season. It's the first Rose #2 I've ever submitted and everything came out beautifully. Vess signed it at Heroes Con and Jeff at SDCC. Big thanks to Rich Henn for putting in the miles! Now to find a Rose #3...
