  1. I would consider trimming to be damage and to be graded accordingly.
  2. Doosh? Yeah, I'm fine with that. You're living up to that description yourself quite well.
  3. How is cleaning up a book and removing dust not restoration?
  4. This is what I'm getting at. If you're not adding something to the comic or replacing something that improves the look, I don't see why it's out of bounds. Removing dust or grime, getting a few creases out if possible, shouldn't be a problem whether you do it with a machine or a stack of books.
  5. I'm a shill? How so? Is Shawn Everidge not my name? News to me.
  6. You say self-serving, misleading, and bogus. I say accurate.
  7. The process you describe can occur naturally, yet the comic will not be graded differently or considered restoration if said process is to the benefit of the comic's appearance.
  8. And yet, I agree with their definition, so it is not a complete CGC fabrication. Your definition is not the be all, end all.
  9. "Restoration" has gained a negative connotation in the comics world that means something more specific to me than what you might think of outside of comics. If you think of it as making something look nicer than it was before, sure, it's restoration. But personally, and I understand this is not everyone's definition, if nothing non-original is introduced (new staples, color touching, etc.), then it's not restoration as it applies to collecting comics.
  10. I understand that they're fairly short staffed (though maybe they've hired enough new people at this point). They COULD charge for a special dealer tier, but I don't see how they could logistically deal with more books right now with the staff they have, not that they're not currently charging too much for the quality of service being provided.
  11. Yeah, I don't agree that pressing is restoration just as I don't see cleaning as restoration. I see restoration as adding something or replacing something to make the comic look better.
  12. Hmmm. I can see there being a certain length of time that has to go by before designating something classic (at least ten years IMO), but if something is fairly heavily homaged these days or if books have gained value solely because of their cover art, then they should come into consideration, more recent examples being Detective Comics 880 and ASM 607.
  13. Not much to say other than "it is what it is". It's been a major cluster the past few months, and I can only hope to see the end of it soon. There are some signs of it getting better, but other than signings, I'm not really sending much more in at the moment.
  14. "I've done nothing to prove myself and I'm all out of ideas!"
  15. Yeah, maybe so unfortunately. Damn black covers.
  16. The drama is more interesting over there, that's for sure.
  17. Here are a couple. Let me know if you need more detailed pics of the corners, spine, etc.
  18. Hey! So, I'm sending in my Jock cover variant of Gideon Falls #1 to get signed, and I was just curious what this nick on the spine and corner may cost me grade-wise. Assume everything else looks fine. Would this drop me from a 9.8 to a 9.6 or lower? Thanks!
  19. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that function existed until the first PM was sent.
  20. Trying. Unfortunately, a certain someone has take to direct messaging me now.
  21. I'm not adjusting a damn thing. Take your obsession with me and do what I said. Shove off. I wish there were a way to block someone here.
