  1. I've only bought one slab lower than 9.8 with a comic that came out in the last ten years. That would be a fourth print of Star Wars: Darth Vader #3 from 2016. It's a 9.6, and it looks fantastic. If a particular issue is rare enough, my desire for a 9.8 wavers. I'm currently feeling that way towards a fifth print of the first issue from that series. I've got my eye on a 9.6 and the price feels right. Just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.
  2. I love it when people think they speak for all Star Wars fans.
  3. Question. Where do you guys find these? I've been to many of my local Walmarts and have never been able to find comics for sale. Are they with the books or somewhere else?
  4. I personally think it's cool, but I don't know if there is enough interest in foreign variants to support that.
  5. Marvel does relaunch titles more often than I like these days.
  6. Dylan was a big deal in Absolute Carnage and King in Black I thought as well as the starting point for Ewing's run, but like what you like I guess.
  7. I second the recommendation of The Nice House on the Lake. The first six issues are out. They are on hiatus I believe until March when the last six issues start coming out. Also, I'd recommend The Silver Coin, another horror anthology like Ice Cream Man, and Home Sick Pilots, a bizarre little book about a couple bands who get involved with ghosts and a walking haunted house. Oh, and pretty much everything that has come out that Jeff Lemire has written.
  8. How so? I thought his Venom run wrapped up nicely and I've been pretty satisfied with his Thor run so far.
  9. Thor #20 is getting first appearance hype. Sellers are already asking $20-$25 on eBay. Snatch one up for cover price if you can.
  10. The price increase is not substantial for me. I just want my books back. I will still renew my membership in a couple months because, face it, the competition is no competition at all. I'm just worried this will create another bottleneck, or really worsen the bottleneck we're still in from the last price increase. On a side note, I've been getting my signed books back faster than older books I submitted, and I get emails about new signing events more frequently than I'd like at the moment. How about CGC focus on the unsigned books for a while and pump the brakes on the signings?
  11. That puts my reading regimen to shame.
  12. I'm in. Hopefully it'll serve as a little more motivation to get that "to read" pile whittled down.
  13. Who knows. Communication from Bad Idea is often purposely vague and mysterious. Sometimes they outright lie. I'd hope people wouldn't pay a grand for these things, but some people have more money than sense.
  14. Yeah, I don't do the pins and stickers and whatever, and I'll have nothing to do with their "invisible comics", but they do put out some good stuff. No doubt others will jump through all of their hoops and play their games, and that is unfortunate.
  15. Actually, I'm starting to enjoy how much this is bothering people a little...and I have my run of "Odinn's Eye" to complete.
  16. No hate on the Spawn, but for that money, I'd go with Spidey. Homage covers only go so far with me as far as what I'm willing to pay.
  17. Oh, I take comic collecting seriously. I have over 10,000 of the things and have much invested in CGC submissions. I still can't get worked up over this. It's obviously a special situation and a bit of a goof, and I got my chuckle out of it. That's the limit of my reaction.
