  1. Yet you didn't prove me wrong. You nitpicked. Now shove off.
  2. I definitely think of profit a bit more now than I did when I got back into the hobby last year, but I really haven't sold much yet. When I get more slabs back I will, but a lot I buy is for down the line. I have stuff from when I was heavy into collecting 10-15 years ago that is just now gaining in value, so I guess I have a little more patience because of that.
  3. The question was asked at the beginning of this thread. I'm contributing my answer.
  4. I don't know. I've run into a couple of douchebags already. Not really making me want to continue to post here or be a part of this community.
  5. It's "principal", genius. I can see why people just choose to lurk around here.
  6. Are you still bothering me? What were you saying about maturity?
  7. Did the original poster send his cheap books through walkthrough? I seriously doubt it. And I'm not interesting in proving my maturity to you, champ.
  8. Sure you can, if you're a insufficiently_thoughtful_person. And I already told you to stop wasting my time.
  9. But the tiers are. Stop wasting my time.
  10. It's clear the system is intended to provide faster turnaround times for higher value comics. Some people just want to argue.
  11. Well, sure, you could do that, but why waste money on a cheap book? And I've heard board members say they will bump you up if your book is perceived by CGC to be of higher value. Sure, you can try and "scam" the system and lowball the value, but you may not get away with it.
  12. Looks like it's based on value to me...
  13. I haven't had any major issues on the ten books I got back, but one of the slabs is a bit scuffed up and one has a small filament of plastic on the inside. I'm hoping that's the last or at least minimum level of issues I have as I have another 50 or so books still there waiting to be returned.
  14. Well, aside from the turnaround times listed on the site, my express books have been finally coming back while my lower-tier books are still stuck in limbo.
  15. False how? Higher tiers have faster turnaround times.
  16. Why do the higher tiers have faster turnaround times?
  17. If you sent in cheaper comics, they will definitely take a while to get back. The more expensive ones get higher priority, not that those are coming back terribly quickly either. It's better than it was right after April though at least.
  18. It's just the opposite for me. Ha ha. Many comics I slab with the intent to sell, but once I get them, I find it hard to part with them. Also, I slab quite a few books I have no intention of selling because I like how they look slabbed, they're less likely to get damaged, and in many cases I plan on displaying them. There are a few variant covers that have just been released that I'm slabbing just for that purpose.
  19. It's not like there aren't several other covers to choose from. This is a non-issue.
  20. Yeah, I was gonna go with the trades, but I saw the listing and got them for basically cover price a piece and thought what the hell.
  21. Illegal? Maybe not. Scummy? Definitely.
