  1. Others can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you have to be the one to nominate him. Then there is a grace period where the other party can defend themselves and then there is a vote. It has been a while so if these rules have changed, hopefully someone can provide more direction.
  2. Definitely an interesting book, that's for sure. The spine looks like it has a lot of wear or rubbing. Can't really see the top of the front cover and I can't tell if it is your scanner or if there is dirt on the cover and on the back. Grade? Maybe an 8.0?
  3. Glad to see this appears to have been resolved. I will watch for any probation or Hall of Shame nomination vote if Catwomancomics wants to go that route. I would encourage you to do so.
  4. Exactly. For those of us trying to determine whom they may or may not want to deal with in the future, communication is key. As it stands right now, I am leaning to put both of these forum members on my list of "never deal with". But, I am open to hear what really happened.
  5. I sure hope you don't have to drive to the authorities, you know, the inconvenience and all. While you are speaking to the authorities, could you please ask if stealing something worth $500 is a criminal offence?
  6. Hum, interesting. Sorry, but I have to ask, what is "fomo"? You kids these days
  7. N3 (sell free comic book day comics), is this a "thing" now? I recently saw someone trying to sell free comic book day comics and they were asking some ridiculous amount ($49 or $79) if I recall. Crazy.
  8. The colours on that book are nice. That mark / line in the Batman logo, is that on the case or on the book? The back cover looks good aside from what looks like a minor tear near the top. On the front cover there does appear to be a lot of spine wear, and the top and bottom left front corners are a bit rough but I would agree with vheflin, 6.0 is reasonable. However, if that mark is on the book and not the case, I would say 5.0, maybe 5.5? Curious to see what the actual grade was.
  9. Hum, this forum has changed a lot over the years, perhaps for the better. In the "old days" a question like that from a newbie would have been met with relentless torment and much anguish. It seems the place has mellowed. That is not necessarily a bad thing. But lets not let the newbies get too cocky. Oh, and least I forget, WTTB!
  10. I try to be a good person, I really do. But deep down inside, I chuckle when I see these. As the Germans might say, schadenfreude, schadenfreude everywhere.
  11. Yeah, those outliers usually have 12,170 posts. Just joking
  12. Yes, not shipping to Canada is unfortunate. Although I must admit, I have contacted sellers who say "USA Only" and they have been willing to re-consider. On the topic, I will say that one of the things I have always liked about this forum is the unwritten rule (I think it is unwritten) that you do not threadcr@p in someone's sales thread, period. That has been a long standing stance and I would argue it should remain. This is a free society (at least for now, how knows how much longer), so people are free to price and grade their books as they wish. If books are over priced or over graded, bite your tongue move on. My
  13. Bought a The Shadow # 9 slab and a few raw books from Warren Oates (Dan). Very easy to deal with. Packaging was good and I appreciated the freebies thrown in. I would not hesitate to buy from Dan again.
  14. Given all the uncertainly, the current comic market is fascinating. I am very surprised the comic market has held up as well as it appears to have. With regard to Comic Link, it should be interesting to see where that All - American Comics # 16 (4.0), Hulk # 1 (9.0) and Captain America # 1 (2.5) go for.
  15. Whomever wrote that, it would appear they wanted to be seen as hip and cool and up with the times. But were hippies the target market for comics in 1970? Were hippies ever the target market? Look at the topics in question five. Makes you wonder whether there is a precedent for the current ham fisted effort by comic professionals to attract social justice warriors - cough, cough, snowflake and safespace - cough, cough. Just a thought. Now get off my lawn, you darn kids!
  16. That's groovy, man! What book is that from? I want to check that out, you dig, man. Peace!
  17. I bought three slabs from Dave. Great to deal with. He mailed the books right away and packaging was excellent. I would buy from Dave again with no hesitation!
  18. I might be showing my age, but I come from the school of thinking which says comic books were meant to be read and enjoyed. That book has clearly brought joy and entertainment over the years. But, it is still nice. Sure, it has some overall wear and tear but nothing too bad, and it looks like it is structurally sound. Still has some gloss on the cover, and upon closer inspection even that bottom right front corner is not as bad as it first looked. That is a solid 4.0 (very good) in my opinion.
  19. Not to derail the thread but I am curious, why did interest in Pokemon drop off? And was it a gradual decline or did it essentially happen overnight?
  20. Those scans look great, than you, Sir! Just to confirm, I will take Shadow 8, 11, & 12.
  21. Shadow # 8, 11, & 12 (pending scans) but I am pretty confident in your assigned grades.
