Hey! What happened to my listing!/??
-
I have a couple large lots of Avengers comics up and the current bid makes them a steal!
-
-
About 9.0 but I'm not quite sure what's going on with the mark on the bottom left edge of the back cover. Is that a rip or just a mark?
That is a tear but it is a result of printing or binding or something - I see those often at the bottoms of Marvel issues from that period.. just not sure of the technical grading term for them
-
are those pages slightly brittle? That corner pic seems brown - of so I would say 6.0 - if not I would say 7.5
-
..another beauty from his collection . I adjusted the scanning curve/contrast to give a better "x-ray" of the front and back cover
There are slight pressable creases on the front and back cover.. opinions greatly appreciated.
I think the two tears on the bottom are from the printing process - with the one on the left being bigger than the one on the right as a result of the way the issue was misaligned/bound/stapled (you can tell from the back cover it isn't "straight"
-
does it affect grade though? or, since it is normal, no?
-
Does anyone know if detached pages are normal in these square bound books?
I have a copy of Marvel Super-Heroes #28 which has 3 pages detached - but looking closely at it it doesn't appear they were ever attached at all. There are no staples on this issue etc..
Its in really nice shape and possibly worth grading - but if a detached pages would drop it down to a 1.8 .. it changes everything of course.

Just posted this on the Brother can you spare a grade thread

I think its a 9.2 w/ 9.4 potential after pressing

how can you not love seeing a book that hasn't seen the light of day since 1970 or so..

I'm going to start posting pictures of the books on the thread here for Mr. Glassman10

My early comics from 1959 all went to the dump. Thanks Mom.

Which dump and what is the address please

annndddd... dont rule out the possibility of your collection possibly getting pedigree status - which would make it worth even more. Sounds so far like you have stored this very well for all these years.
-
maybe others can chime in here - (and I would not run out and do this ...) but I believe that chip could be reattached with a very small piece of archival tape via the inside cover - professionally - without losing blue label status (meaning, if you don't know, it would still be considered unrestored - which is a good thing)
I'm sure CCS would advise you if asked...
-
PS - Make sure the books are insured prior to traveling around with them!
-
Prior to getting your AF 15 graded - you might want to consider having it checked to see if it should be pressed - in that grade just a 1/2 a point is worth thousands - or 10's of thousands.
How should I proceed?

$3,000 to $7,000 according to Heritage Auction results https://www.ha.com/c/search-results.zx?Nty=1&Ntk=SI_Titles&Ns=Price%7c1&N=0+790+231&Ntt=Sid+Greene&ic4=SortBy-071515
But perhaps more now as some of those sales are from 10 years ago ...or perhaps less as that drawing was not used in actual publication
