I think 4.0 to 4.5 - Many graded examples out there to use as a guide - Do you have a picture of what it looked like in 1972??
Pretty cool considering it was only 10 years old at the time of purchase. Kudos for hanging onto it for so long and welcome to the boards!

CGC has given me a bump before.. Mark H .. from a 9.8 to 9.9 on two books... and I am as average as you can get.. (granted..it was for Will to Power..but still)
I brought them in... told them I respectfully disagreed with their grade...asked them to point out the flaws..etc.. after looking at the book again..they agreed with me.. (two others did not get bumped..

My question is what things should NOT be allowed, then? If we're all protected by some internal policy that no one will ever know whose books is being graded, why care if your employees are buying or selling slabs?
You're right. It does revolve around them having some idea of whether the book is a client of CI. But, where are we expected to draw the line? CGC has a no slabbed comic sales policy for their employees. Why? Can't we just trust that the graders won't know whose book it is?Every single conflict of interest theory in this thread hinges on the CGC graders suddenly knowing that a certain book came in through CI. If CGC actually confirms that this isn't going to be the case, what's left to speculate about? That just proves my point, though - CGC already has internal policies in place to ensure there's no conflict of interest for the graders. Has there been any indication whatsoever that those policies no longer exist?
For that matter, why not let the graders know whose book it is? They're supposed to be impartial and completely without reproach, right? Tell them. I'm sure the policies will still hold if the policy tells them not to care whose book it is and to be impartial.
Hi - Here's some more books for you to grade...these ones are from Robojo

We won't be here any longer..12/21/12 is just around the corner! But I'm still keeping my books!

Actually, any time a book is damaged due to shifting in the slab, it's my fault

Doesn't seem there are many to choose from.
I think the quality at MileHigh is great but the prices are outrageous.
Mycomicshop has amazing prices but the quality can be hit or miss or really miss.
Any other options?
Very soon, everyone will have another site to purchase accurately graded books from....
Hrah??? what site?

I submitted a bunch of comics to them...but I also graded one long box prior to submission - just to make sure they entered them all and graded what I would..and I would say 95% of the grades were what I wrote -
I can share my results with them here - but only if you all want to see a giant excel spreadsheet

Probably my greatest dungeon creation: a long forgotten dwarven temple hidden below a mine, called GrununderGron. The party ( looking for coin to finance gear purchases ) takes a job to clean out the town's mine. Miners broke through a section of wall and happened upon a lair of Grimlocks who proceed to take over the entire mine and claim it as their own.
These clues point the party in the direction of a great Dwarven city where they eventually go, and make new allies.
In my campaign this tied in to perhaps the greatest published module I ever DM'd:
Holy Crappola! Great job! When are you going to sue Peter Jackson?? Clearly he played your creation! Those cities look identical!
I want to play D&D now.. awesome dungeon
Hmm might have better luck suing this guy though
OMG Look at what this guy created with candy

Tupperware - a great place to store olives, celery and lead figurines. I started buying a fair amount of these..and then got one of those model painting kits and got to work.. I was also buying the "odder" items like desks, bookcases, cauldrons and circular "well" covers w/ various runes on them haha
-
OK - I TOO went to my garage.. and have found the motherload..
uploads commencing
I remember needing a place to store my dice in about 1982 or so.. and drew inspiration from how my mom stored leftovers - you guessed it - Tupperware!
Just found my box of die
There is something about seeing this that just fills my heart with excitement haha
