  1. Lyssa's leg.... can't miss that. I imagine that's a sweet copy you've got there BZ. Your Planets are so darn nice looking. Next cover: Title and issue number?
  2. The Christopher Columbus of space (from Strange Adventures 11)
  3. You betcha. That's just one of those images that has always stuck. being a Brunner, Ditko, and Wood fan doesn't hurt either. Next Question: Name these three adventurers.
  4. The skull in the crystal ball is not the original Brunner drawing, it's from the Stalker #1 cover.
  5. That answer is so close, it's gotta be the Carbon Dioxide (occurs naturally, and is a by-product of the combustion of vegetable matter) Edit: Don't quote me on the science of this one, but CO2 is a product of the respiration cycle.
  6. The JLA 138 follow-up? Very cool. Next Question: How did the Warden foil Eel Elkins' escape attempt from the prison planetoid? There are storms moving through the area and my connection is spotty, so here are three hints: 1. Murphy Anderson art 2. The answer is a naturally occuring by-product. 3. The title of this story is also the title of a Tommy Tomorrow adventure. Hopefully that's enough to track down the answer.
  7. Tornado Champion = second Red Tornado JPS Mystery in Space #61 (1960) featured "The Threat of the Tornado Tyrant". In 1981 writer Gerry Conway, along with artists George Perez and John Beatty, incorporated the Tornado Tyrant/Champion into the Red Tornado's origin story.
  8. Yeah, that is pretty vague. More specific: Rann
  9. Thanks Jack and Scrooge (have a safe trip), that one took some digging. Next question: What 1960's threat later became a hero?
  10. Excellent bronze_rules! from Tales of the Green Lantern Corp Annual 2
  11. Nice one Zonker. No way I would have gotten that without the clue. (Wikipedia strikes again) Next question: "Your death will come when the ring of power that you wear eventually fails you, running out of energy at a critical moment..." The above quote is from an Alan Moore story. What is the name of the character who spoke this prophecy, and to whom was he speaking?
  12. The Avengers Edit: If you'll excuse me, me and my ISP here have to step out back for a few minutes to "discuss" things.
  13. September 2, 1927 Johnstown, PA edit: Curses! Oh cruel fate....Foiled by the Dial-up yet again.
  14. -Wheeet- Offense. "Too many men on the field. That's a five yard penalty. First down." Aw geez, sorry coach. That one's on me.
  15. This may or may not be worth a point, but I have the answer to this one. The Ancient One. Doctor Strange 13 "Planet Earth is No More" What villain did The Galdiator kill in 1976?
  16. Yep. Chili Seven the Daffy Duck of Hanover Models.
  17. That's on the list along with Startling 49. What's really surprising is the lack of Planet Comics covers. Planet 28 is not a classic cover? Any of the Doolin covers from 51-57 could be considered classics. Who makes these designations again? Is this just a general concensus thing?
  18. Thanks for the link BZ! (thumbs u I'm not much of OTR buff myself, but have read a good Chandler novel or two. Love Film Noir. "Out of the Past", "Double Indemnity", "Pick-up on South Street" (Richard Widmark, what an under rated actor.) Thanks again
  19. Yes sir, BZ! Harry Lucey's Sam Hill Private Eye in two parts.
  20. Huzzah! Congratulations the Black Hand. It is Harry Lucey. I'll have the story the to share in a moment.
