  1. I've bought books off the rack with those "waves" (for lack of a better term) at the top and/or bottom of the front cover, and also think they occurred during the manufacturing process.
  2. Fantastic piece...thanks for sharing! I also see the George Perez influence in both the layout of the piece and the clean linework...
  3. I have two, but only three of the books fit my collecting focus...still need a Tales to Astonish #35! Nice rack!
  4. Has anyone seen the original British "Utopia" series? I'm one episode into the American version (seems pretty intriguing so far), but while doing a search on IMDb I discovered it's a remake of a British series from 2013-2014, which appears to be more highly-regarded...
  5. It looks like Brave and the Bold 34 is heating up because of the recent Black Adam movie announcement regarding Hawkman...
  6. This is very sad news...I did not know Bob personally, but enjoyed his posts here on the boards over the years. R.I.P. Bob...condolences to his family and friends.
  7. This is a good idea, because you may accidentally get charged even though notes aren't available...this happened to me a few years ago, and I had to call CGC to get the cost of the graders notes credited back to my credit card. Hopefully they've worked out the kinks in the system since then!
  8. I agree because all of the wear appears to be color-breaking...sweet copy of an awesome book!
  9. +1 I've seen other books that exhibit this exact same type of tear, and agree that looks like a manufacturing defect... How it happens during manufacturing is a whole other question...
  10. Last up is Tales of Suspense #52 - Formerly CGC VF- 7.5 (label will be included with the book), Off-White to White pages - $2250 $2000 First appearance of the Black Widow! This book appears to be heating up a bit (the last sale of a 7.0 captured by GPA was $2100, and another 7.0 just sold for $2006 in the most recent ComicLink auction). I'm pretty certain that this book has not been pressed because it has some wear that I think can be pressed out (please see photos in the spoiler), but I bought it already slabbed and cracked it out. I also included images of the book when it was slabbed in the spoiler. Graders notes: light crease right center of back cover spine stress lines breaks color very small, multiple staple tear wear full top of cover breaks color Item not called out in the graders notes - Two scuffs/spots/stains at the left middle of the back cover (please see photo in the spoiler).
  11. Next up is Flash #141 - Formerly CGC VF+ 8.5 (label will be included with the book), Off-White to White pages - $140 $120 I don't think this book has been pressed (it has some bends), but I bought it already slabbed and cracked it out. Graders notes: light spine stress lines to cover very light creasing to cover Item not called out in the graders notes - A tiny stain at the top edge of the front cover (above the right side of the "H" in "FLASH") that can only been seen from the inside of the front cover.
  12. First up is Avengers #6 - Formerly CGC VF+ 8.5 (label will be included with the book), Off-White to White pages - $600 $550 First appearance of Baron Zemo, who will be the villain in the "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" series on Disney+! I don't think this book has been pressed (there are two minor non-color-breaking items that I think would not be there if the book was pressed), but I bought it already slabbed and cracked it out. Graders notes: light finger bends center of front cover light wear left center of front cover breaks color moderate spine stress lines breaks color Items not called out in the graders notes - A tiny spot of spine wear that has worn through the cover (it's hard to tell if this is from production or part of the "moderate spine stress" called out by CGC) and a small tear in the margin of one page (please see photos in the spoiler).
  13. Hi everyone, I have three raw, deslabbed CGC books for sale: Avengers #6 - Formerly CGC VF+ 8.5 - $600 $550 Flash #141 - Formerly CGC VF+ 8.5 - $140 $120 Tales of Suspense #52 - Formerly CGC VF- 7.5 - $2250 $2000 Those of you who've sold raw books to me in the past know I ask a bunch of questions when I'm interested in a book, and I can say that none of these books have the following defects, unless called out in their descriptions: Loose or detached staples Rusty staples A loose or detached centerfold Spine splitting Chipping or dents Major creases Any printing defects (printers creases, smudges, etc.) Domestic USPS Priority Mail insured shipping is included within the U.S., and I'll cover $25 of International USPS Priority Mail insured shipping to any countries where USPS service is not disrupted (Please check out https://about.usps.com/newsroom/service-alerts/international/welcome.htm for details). I accept PayPal, checks or money orders. The first gets the book, but I will also listen to offers via PM. Since these books have been deslabbed I accept returns or will make things right should you not be happy with a book for any reason. Please No probies and HOSers, and thanks for looking! Art
  14. Very shocking and sad news...R.I.P. Mr. Boseman.
  15. I have two Silver Age DC books with one of these bubbles on their covers, and I think they're called ink blisters (if I remember correctly)...
  16. It looks like it could be just the way the book was printed...I checked out some copies on eBay and saw the same color change on Spidey's leg at the right edge of the front cover. Here's a link to a CGC 9.4 Signature Series that exhibits this - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Spider-Man-1SILVER-CGC-9-4-SS-1990-1183975001/133425343147?hash=item1f10c52aab:g:gUAAAOSwdzFe0zzJ
