  1. I just decided to check GPA data for TOS #39 in CGC 6.0 to see if there's been a drop post-Endgame, and I don't see one so far... This could be more an effect of the insanely hot comic market right now though...it will be interesting to see what happens when life starts to return to some semblance of normalcy.
  2. My wife and I have almost finished season 1 and absolutely love this show...yet another nice perk of subscribing to HBO Max!
  3. I’ve always liked the Vision, and am glad they brought him back in some form...
  4. I wonder if Doctor Strange 2 will touch on the repercussions of what Wanda did in Westview at all...
  5. This is so true, especially this year...new GPA highs appear to be constantly getting set for some books. I should have qualified my statement with "before Covid" or "before 2021"...
  6. This is key when looking at GPA data...sometimes the last sale will be a high or low outlier data point.
  7. Ever since I got back into collecting in 2000, every year was supposed to be the year that DC keys started to catch up to Marvel keys. It feels like the opposite has happened (especially in the last few years), and the gap has widened considerably...
  8. In addition to all the good points shared, here are a few others you could consider... Auction the book, but start the bidding at the lowest price you're willing to accept for it List the book at a higher "buy it now" price than you think it's worth, but accept offers - This may give you an idea of the true market for the book unless you've priced it so high that people don't even make offers, in which case you can lower the "buy it now" price over time
  9. I agree...it looks more "compressed" than "recessed". I'm guessing it's just the way the book was manufactured, and the fact that the staple is compressed contributed to the wear pattern around it...
  10. Me too... I heard the BvS Ultimate Edition is supposed to be much better than the theatrical release, which is the only version I saw...may need to check that out before ZSJL.
  11. Thanks so much for the response, @Jennifer F.!
  12. When Marvel finally gets around to making the X-Men movie it will be interesting to see if X-Men #1 or GSX #1 benefits the most... As others have mentioned, the original X-Men series did poorly enough that it ended up getting cancelled (Neal Adams couldn't even save it ), and it took the new team to make the X-Men what they are today.
  13. I chose X-Men #1 for historical and current cultural significance, but always considered ASM #1 a key you needed to stretch your resources to acquire, while X-Men #1 fell into the realm of more affordable keys like Avengers #1 and Daredevil #1. I don't have ASM #1 or X-Men #1, so I'm now going to have to stretch my resources if I want to acquire either of them...thanks MCU! It would be interesting to see how this poll would have gone if it were posted before Disney acquired Fox...
  14. This pretty much epitomizes a great mom...even toward the end she's looking out for her son's well-being.
  15. Having lost my mom to stage IV lung cancer nine years ago, I totally agree with this statement... I'm very sorry for your loss...condolences to you and your family.
  16. Hello CGC, I've recently purchased graders notes for a few books, and was curious as to the difference between "light staining to cover" and "moderate staining to cover"? Does the category of staining refer to the type of stains (for example, light surface stains as opposed to more noticeable water stains), the number of stains, or both? I'm really hoping this question can be answered, but also understand that this categorization might vary from grader to grader. Thanks so much for your time! Art
  17. It does look like a subscription crease running through the bottom half of the entire book (you can see it as a subscription bend on the back cover). The book looks like a 4.5 to me, but I don't know if the partial subscription crease might knock it down to 4.0 or lower? I'm also not sure how much the ink transfer on the back cover might impact the grade... Nice copy!
  18. I have a few Silver Age books that have the staples offset like this, but don't remember seeing them as often on Bronze Age books. I agree with @Randall Dowling in that they may not affect the grade since this is how the book was produced...
