They were historically dismissed as a worthless copy. They were trashed/destroyed. I bet there's less surviving copies of 2nd prints than the 1st.

The seller is accepting best offers too. If I had to the money I would approach the seller with a best offer of between 10-15k which seems a fairer price for the grade. Once I had the 5 I'd be in the club! Then I'd flip and upgrade my way all the way to a 9!

How's the demand for 2nd prints now? I can't find any sales data for 2nd prints. First and third prints is quite easy but hardly anything for 2nd prints. Very odd

Epic. I hope the cover negatives are found. It could be the negatives were stored somewhere else if they were used to print the covers for all other later editions using the same #1 cover?

That would be amazing. I seriously hope this comes to pass. Will you reprint the comic to 3,000 copies using similar materials? Perhaps the comic could come bundled with the published article? Anyway very excited to hear your proposal, I can't wait to see what comes of it!

A moment in time not to be repeated again sure but it can be recreated in the mind of the reader every time they pick up their #1 comic, sit down and re-read their favourite origin story of the comic that kickstarted it for them! Everybody's experience and introduction to #1 is different. Thanks for sharing yours @Subby1938

Even more so when I have seen better looking 9.6's than 9.8's! Imagine whoever buys this resubs it and it comes back 9.8! $240k comic for $78k. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the new gamble.

I think I prefer the print quality of the third print. It reads better to me. Nicer contrast in the inks/tones. Maybe that is just me. I will never own a first print I had a chance to buy one years ago and I let it go. I think about that a lot now. I have a couple copies of the second print which is the closest I will get. It looks like all copies of the first three printings of issue 1 are on the way up to the heavens! I am happy I own a copy and got this when it was affordable. Owning one now at current prices would be nothing more than a mirage for me!

People love their comics to be signed by Eastman, no matter how many times! The original signature and head sketch down the side of the comic is perfect enough I reckons
