  1. I need to check out this series. There has been much talk here about it. And it includes Fugitoid?!
  2. That OA is one of my favourite pages. A key page! Awesome collection. I am guessing there are not so many Russian Fugitoid #1's?
  3. I suppose you could always drill some tiny air holes into the case? Something small/inconspicuous maybe? Either do it yourself or have a professional air hole driller do it for you! Sounds silly but could work. Nothing too big, just enough so not airtight
  4. Very good question. I have the same set of oversized comics I want to keep safe too. Mine are currently bagged/bordered in a top loader. The advice I’ve read is to avoid airtight safes/containers. Staples will rust and pages will warp. Not sure how feasible but I did read a suggestion to use the largest zip lock freezer bag types for protecting them. I’d puncture a couple small air holes in the bags though if I did that. It doesn’t look presentable but should keep them safe especially if moving house etc
  5. You have an original Gobbledygook #1? That’s a pretty big deal if you do! Wanna trade it for my Michael Bay and Megan Fox signed TMNT Blu Ray?! It’s a good swap!
  6. @Turtle is your profile picture Fugitoid because he's your favourite TMNT character/comic? I really feel like Fugitoid #1 is grossly undervalued. Fugitoid #1 is one of the original oversized comics and can still be picked up cheap. All the other oversized comics are hundreds of dollars plus! I wonder if Fugitoid #1 will eventually gather some steam. Perhaps people are not so aware it is an early TMNT comic. The artwork is sublime. There are two lines in the original TMNT comic series that have stuck with me since I first ever read them and every time I re-read them I get the same goosebumps sensation. #1 is Splinter's line 'By the souls of my ancestors,' at the end of issue 3 (that final page still disturbs me) and Fugitoid/Professor Honeycutt's line 'Oh my goodness,' at the end of Fugitoid #1!
  7. Many thanks everyone. It really helps to have some idea of possible grade and pressability. Much appreciated!
  8. Ha ha thanks for your recommendation and any knowledge re. comics is better than my own currently! I’m learning!
  9. There’s a really cool listing for Gobbledygook #1 MASTER PRINTS TMNT Turtles 1 of a KIND! W Original Art Eastman on the bay right now! I’ve never seen inside an original one before, which was nice to see!
  10. Thank you. I’ll probably get it pressed then if it’s a suitable candidate for pressing. I was concerned the lower staple may prevent it from being pressed.
  11. Hello comic experts I am hoping for a grade estimate for this comic if possible. I took as many photos possible to show all angles of it. I apologise if this is too much information. I am wondering also if this comic would benefit from a press? I've read that some comics are not suitable for pressing, things like staple placement can be risky for it. I'm curious if I should get this graded/pressed? What do people think? Many thanks as always for any insight you may offer.I wish I had your knowhow.
  12. They're amazing. That head sketch has got to be one the best looking head sketches of all time for certain. If you never no longer need these
  13. Haha! I've been very chatty chatty! I should try land me a copy of issue #1 first print before I reach 3,000 posts!
  14. I've always been good with Peter Laird, I really aughtabe first in line
  15. Yep I feel the same way I find it somewhat ironic that Mirage dissolves at a time when interest in TMNT is at an all time high
  16. I just saw this update on Mirage's website: September, 2021 Mirage Studios sold the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles intellectual property to Viacom/Nickelodeon in October 2009 and, after winding down business affairs over the last dozen years, the four Mirage corporations (Mirage Studios, Inc., Mirage Licensing, Inc., Mirage Publishing, Inc., and Mirage Management, Inc.) were dissolved in 2021. Mirage is no longer conducting any merchandise sales, either directly through this site or via eBay as of September 19th, 2021. This site will no longer be updated and is being maintained primarily as an archival resource related to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics published by Mirage between the years 1984 and 2010. While Mirage has gone out of existence, thanks to you, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will live on forever. Thank you all for your years of support. It has been a pleasure sharing the Turtles’ story and universe with you. Cowabunga!
  17. That collection is magnificent. The iron on has similar colors to the idw #1 color cover edition. I didn’t know that before. Thanks for sharing
  18. I didn't realise the iron-ons were so large scale. For some reason I thought they would be tiny.
  19. Unbelievable. No wonder so many comics are low grades from that time
  20. Ha ha that's incredible you saved that! I bet that is exactly how they were shipped! I can'y believe it. Just a piece of card and paper with a polite do not fold message to house what could eventually become a million dollar comic. Thanks for sharing that epic piece of comic history!
  21. Ah it has now sold out. It was available just the other day when I posted!
  22. Did anybody ever buy their #1 direct from K Eastman/P Laird and have it mailed to them back in 1984? If so how was it shipped? In a cardboard box, like you would expect today or some kind of bubble mailer? Just curious to know. I cannot imagine that what has now become such a valuable comic ever being shipped to customers in some kind of bubble mailer! Just curious is all
  23. The set is still available on the idw website for $49
