  1. Very smart purchasing the #1 2nd print for such a great price! I'm thinking it's worth getting 2nd prints slabbed now
  2. Very cool! What does a comic tattoo sleeve look like!?
  3. That's really cool to see the negatives like that. Thanks for sharing
  4. I read somewhere the negatives were signed by the creators (bar P Laird). Would this affect using the negatives to reprint the pages? If there's a mailing list I can sign up to registering interest please let me know
  5. How is this possible?! Excellent collection!
  6. I would be exactly the same. No money would separate me and my 1st print! Well if I had one that's how I would feel!
  7. I do have other TMNT comics I could perhaps trade if the opportunity comes along. Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I'll definitely bear this in mind
  8. 6 copies! Some boardie made a very smart acquisition! I'd love a 1st print but honestly could never afford the costs these are going for, sigh 8>/. I possibly could afford a super duper lower than low grade copy, you know the one that was rescued from a landfill, if such a copy exists. I will definitely keep looking out for copies in any case. Who knows, sometimes it's possible these things can happen!
  9. This is how I feel about it too. I'd love a 1st print no matter the grade. I got excited thinking about owning a 1st print in 0.5!
  10. Ah, well hopefully you will get lucky and find an affordable raw copy which you can slab and come back high grade? If I see a raw affordable high grade candidate I will let you know
  11. #2 first prints and Raphael sell for big money. #3 and #4 seem affordable still. Perhaps it'd be worth buying these back now. It could help resolve regret some? Equilibrium restored and all that?
  12. Yeh that’s a super cool set and nice they’re all the same high grade. Smart purchase!
  13. The HC has a price tag $25 wasn't that a lot of money for a comic back in 1992? Yeah you would think that they would have been better preserved.
  14. That's a gorgeous set there. Do you still own these?
  15. Great story. Make sure the safety deposit box is free of moisture. I've read stories where people's comics got exposed to trapped moisture in their boxes and it caused the staples to rust. Those silicon gel packs can help I think, though got to change them every so often
  16. You can complete an application to CGC online and then send in your comic for grading yourself
  17. I love the starry night sky. it just takes me away into the night. I know that is far from the real draw to the illustration you hold but it is the night sky that beckons me every time.
  18. Only those with 1st prints can comprehend this!
  19. Very cool story. Paid less than cover price in 1984. Stored in a box since. It gets a bit rolled over the years from storage. Now comes back 9.6 from CGC! Wow. Good for you!
  20. You're both bang on but I continue to love this thread regardless of the negativity of late. I see a lot of people celebrating their #1's and that is why I am here and I'm getting a real education at the same time!
  21. That Jim Lawson page is stunning and atmospheric!
