  1. Hello I am hoping for any suggestions as to a possible grade for this gem. It was bagged and boarded on the day of the convention in 1985 by the original owner and has been kept that way since I purchased it from the original owner 20 years ago. It is unread. Any suggestions as to possible grades will be very gratefully received and will help me to determine whether or not I should get this slabbed. If it is worth it? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  2. The winner (is that the right term to use?) may receive their 2k book in the post tomorrow!
  3. I’m really enjoying the visual book. It’s sort of a companion to the Turtle Power documentary from 2014
  4. This is the $50 visual book the $2k book comes bundled with!
  5. Many thanks for your feedback. That’s very helpful. I’m thinking it won’t be worth it to slab it unless the demand for it goes the way of the 1st print. Other than the scoring it is in really great shape overall. It’s currently stored in a magazine toploader. I’m really clueless as what to sell this for/what it’s worth or potential is
  6. I said it would probably double! I keep checking to see if it is getting relisted but not yet!
  7. Ah so if it wasn’t for the crease it could be an 8.5? Is that the clean and press option that might can help heal the front crease?
  8. Hello, I am hoping for some help with an estimate grading of my comic if possible please. I am considering selling my comic but wonder what it may grade as and also wonder if it would be worth having it slabbed? I think it is in great shape overall but there is some score marks on the front cover (doesn't break color but can be seen as a dark line inside front cover). The score marks on the front cover can be seen in the light. There is also some sort of smears/stains around the top staple on the cover. Not sure what this is? I have tried to capture the condition as best possible. Any grading/condition feedback very gladly received. I would like to know if it is worth having it slabbed because of the score mark/smears? Thank you for any suggestions and guidance.
  9. I hadn’t thought about that - perhaps you’re right
  10. Although, imagine if the buyer didn’t know the difference and left positive feedback?
  11. I get the feeling that this won’t end well
  12. I think I prefer the signature versions as I swear this copy would have been signed at an early comic con when the second print was launched. I like that Pete’s signature is in purple pen. I also think a signed inside copy for the early prints is as close to the earliest tmnt days as they get
  13. Hi I have two copies of #1 (2nd print) one signed by KE/PL on the inside cover, which is very cool and one not, still cool. Both raw/ungraded. The signed version is perhaps a less grade than the non signed (some edge wear) but the non signed has a score mark across the cover, like something scraped against it while it was bagged, which is noticeable in the light but no colour break but otherwise very clean and nice edges. I’m possibly thinking of selling one copy. Which would be the one to keep? The signed or not signed? Any suggestions greatly received. Thank you!
  14. Your analysis is flawless. This is exactly how I feel about my NYC variant, which was bagged/boarded on the day of the con and has been ever since.
  15. I sort of agree. I think enough people over the years would have trashed their second print, discarding it as a worthless copy, bringing surviving copies to around the number of the first print or maybe even less. I think more people would have saved their first print one way or another, but not so much with the second print. Just my thought.
  16. I won’t be surprised if this catches on and the $50 visual book starts selling out just so people can sell the reproduction second print it comes with.
  17. The seller needs to update their listing title. At the moment it suggests it’s a true second print and could be seen as misleading. Updating it as they have isn’t clear enough, especially if the highest bidder placed their bid before the update. If it was me I’d pull the listing and start again making it clear it’s the free reproduction that came with a visual book. There’s no way someone is spending over $1,000 for a reprint of a second printing. This will most likely double or triple by tomorrow’s end of auction.
  18. Many thanks for posting this. My NYC variant is signed by both KE/PL and was wondering if this would be the case
  19. “I just have this feeling I am going to regret selling the book” You’ve answered your own question.
  20. Ok so I’ve only just discovered the TMNT speculation thread. I’m on it now. Thanks
  21. It’s going for $400 plus. It looks like those bidders think it’s a second print. The listing is called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 2nd Print
