  1. I was just coming here to mention it. The success of Spider-Gwen, Silk, and Ms. Marvel probably allows Marvel to take more chances on these characters. What is her 1st appearance ? Vengence #1 Tough to find..
  2. The industry's AVENGERS SALES would disagree with you entirely, this month... HUGE draw for Secret Wars from civilians. ( YES, Secret Wars is a direct lead in from Avengers )
  3. Not the way Key has been defined for the majority of comic collecting history, though the word seems to mean less and less with each passing year. Let me put it another way: 1st Jane Foster is NOT a Key....therefore, 1st Jane Foster "x" cannot be either. 1st appearance Jane Foster with the power of Thor? Work with me here. What If #10 is an important book. mess. The clue was on the cover of #1 Marvel WANTS Natalie Portman to pick up the hammer. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/05/13/drolling-for-clicks-how-the-revealed-identity-of-thor-makes-a-lot-of-sense/ The current market will eat it up. Natalie Portman will never be Thor in the movie. That would be dumber than Gwyneth Paltrow being Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow will be Rescue is what you meant to say. Right? http://marvel.wikia.com/Rescue GUARANTEED movie appearance. Might as well embrace it fellas, there are girls in the your comic shop. And they collect paper.

  5. Wasnt this the assumption about whichever "character" it ended up being? I am curious what you think about this book 1 year from now, and fiver years from now. Do you really think Key is an appropriate word? *shrug* I cannot tell what Marvels publishing plans are going to be beyond this year... Why are you so jilted with me referring to What-If #10 as a key issue? It's the first Jane Foster as Thor. ( Not THE current 616 Thor, which doesn't exist anymore anyway ) But her 1st appearance as Thor. A KEY issue indeed. , I am never jilted at anyone, let alone you. Lot's of people like to have a go at you Larry, and I have never been one of those people. 9 times out of 10 I am on your side of debates. I respect your opinions on comic markets, especially the retail aspect of it, but not jsut there, the secondary market as well. That is why I objected to you using the word "key", cause you adn I both know in the proper sense of the word, it is most definitely not a "key" book. In terms of speculating on Female Thor, and in terms of the reveal, it is without question THE book. There was never any doubt that A book was going to become a $100+ book as soon as the reveal occurred. If it had been Roz (thank goodness its not), her first appearance would be headed there too. I dont think anyone needs to "predict" that there was going to be a big bounce for whichever character's book won the reveal.... Anyway, this thread will keep on being what its always been, anyone rushing to over pay for a What If #10, think of it this way: -It's never going back to where it was -now is the absolute worst time to be trying to buy one -either buy a dip when something else has the speculative attention, or wait for the female thor fad to wear off (but realize that could be a year or two away...) how bout: 1st Jane Foster with the power of Thor? Logical Key designation, No?
  6. With shipping What If #10, ALLREADY broke the $100 mark!~ Who woulda thunk it?
  7. I get $25 for What If Silver Surfer had the Infinity Gauntlet on the regular...
  8. 1st Jane Foster with cancer?! a key? Maybe. The "reveal" page in Thor #8 illustrates Jane Foster with cancer to look like Natalie Portman with cancer. IMHO DONT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE. WARNING. SPOILER ( one that is ALL over the inter-webs )
  9. Wasnt this the assumption about whichever "character" it ended up being? I am curious what you think about this book 1 year from now, and fiver years from now. Do you really think Key is an appropriate word? it is much easier to say and type "key" than "currently relevant to an unknown degree" As for Larry's claim of $100, I don't think one would expect that price if God of Thunder 12 was the first appearance, but $40 or $50 wouldn't have been unexpected. Those GoT issues had a significantly smaller print run than the current Thor series and are in the ballpark of the first printing of Ms Marvel 1 from 2014. That book currently sells somewhere between $50 and $100 and also cannot stay in stock on eBay. 100 dollars for the approaching-4-decades-old What If 10 doesn't seem unreasonable at all. 100 dollars for the approaching-4-decades-old What If 10 doesn't seem unreasonable at all. I agree. And remember, I predicted that price by this weekend. 1st Jane Foster with the power of Thor.
  10. What If #10 1st Jane Foster with the power of Thor. KEY issue.
  11. Wasnt this the assumption about whichever "character" it ended up being? I am curious what you think about this book 1 year from now, and fiver years from now. Do you really think Key is an appropriate word? 5 years from now, it will be what it was 5 months ago, a $5-$10 book. Chris Hemsworth is signed for 3 more movies, through Infinity Wars 1 & 2 Lady Thor novelty will be gone long before then Could be. Or the future is just too damn close to right in front of you. Ms Marvel Jane Foster Thor Silk Gwen Could be a fad or the next generations Jam.

  13. Yup. Making all copies of Thor: God of Thunder #25, Avengers #30 & Thor #1 worthless. I will buy every first print copy of Thor 1 you have for cover price It definitely sucks for all who loaded up on those books, At least for the moment. I think the value will depend on what they do with the series. If everything reboots as is stated in this article http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/05/11/g-willow-wilson-supposed-to-say-jumping-on-point-not-reboot-for-marvel/ ...and we go back to male Thor, I think it will probably do what Superior Spider-man did when Peter came back. If she sticks around, all bets are off. I don't get why Marvel keeps doing the reboots. At some point, you think their base would pick up on it. I don't think a reboot or renumbering or relaunch is going to necessarily lead to the re-introduction of a male Thor. Why spend months teasing the female Thor's identity, reveal it, and then a few issues later cast her aside? Especially when the book is doing alright in sales? Plus the pc police are going to be all over Marvel if they dump one of their female leads that quickly. Female Thor is here to stay in comicdom What If 10 in high grade will be a $100 book. By the Weekend.
  14. Yup. Making all copies of Thor: God of Thunder #25, Avengers #30 & Thor #1 worthless. Not really... They're all going to be in demand this summer. What if #10 is THE Key. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/07/30/speculator-corner-avengers-30-your-first-female-thor/
  15. Thor tomorrow should generate some Buzz.... Polarizing. If the media picks up on it, could explode for a week. One of those tight window opportunities. Long term if "____" "_______" plays "____" in "____-3"
  16. 10% of order allocation?!?!?!? Is that really happening? well if theyre allocated theyre gone for good Im afraid I got 2 of 96 Wish it was 10% Anyway... Batman 40 2nd is going to be a person_without_enough_empathy too...
  17. How long until Larry makes FUN of someone? TYPING like THIS. these aren't my personal cup of tea, but just like any other comic put out, I don't mind if the market decides. And its the companies (who are in business for profit) to take the risk. If you have a good idea to profitize something, its up to you how you want to do so. He's not punching kittens, he's just putting out some comics that people can buy or not. On a semi-related note, it made me wonder if a blessing or consent or compensation to the original artist was involved. (I get that from a legal perspective its not required, just made me think) on an unrelated note, I LOVE the idea of the movie poster swipes, and if I was a cover artist, I would be doing that ALL DAY LONG. I understand that Marvel & DC own artwork done under work for hire contracts. But I'm not a lawyer & only play the part of a comic book retailer...
  18. Curious... Has anyone ever done a series of variants based on one cover before? No? You're welcome. No, never Those. Are. Not. Variants.
  19. How long until Larry makes FUN of someone? TYPING like THIS. THANKS, for posting the cover...
  20. Curious... Has anyone ever done a series of variants based on one cover before? No? You're welcome.
  21. Confused... Why would a publisher / creator (seller) Begrudge A retailer ( buyer) From making money?! I look forward to your next Walking Dead phantom variant. I think that has something to do with AMC...
