  1. Good lord... AND in English. Shops recieved 10% of their Chew #29 order in variants... If.. And the key word here is IF. They took the time to pry themselves away from their lunch to order: Item Detail: AUG128244 Prev Prev Next Next CHEW #29 GIARRUSSO VAR CVR (MR) Enlarge Image CHEW #29 GIARRUSSO VAR CVR (MR) IMAGE COMICS (W) John Layman (A) Rob Guillory (CA) Chris Giarrusso story JOHN LAYMAN art ROB GUILLORY cover CHRIS GIARRUSSO "SPACE CAKES," Part Four On the trail of the vampire! Meaning: MOST shops missed it. the allocation percent was based on orders for the run. The book is rare as hell... classic Larry CGC meltdown imminent...
  2. The Chew #29 variants are indeed limited to one thousand. Rob took a bunch to NYCC The rest got allocated to 10% of a shops Chew #29 order that took the time to fill out the line order for the variant. If they missed that. They got none regardless what their #. Of the 1,900 remaining retailers, 1,700 are fat & lazy. Most missed it. ie: If your shop orders 100 Chew 29, they qualified for 10, "IF" they ordered it.. Hope that helps >>That'd make it more than 1000 total.<< Apparently you do not consider me a credible source. That's perfectly fine. Attach whatever number & scenario to the print run you like. Yeesh. Sensitive much...? Nope. Simply MUCH more informed than you...

  5. At first Walking Dead #103 variant was limited to 1,000 BEFORE the final orders were due, Diamond sent shops an email warning that it had changed to order as many as you like. I adjusted my order accordingly. Any shop that didn't has ONLY themselves to blame.
  6. My opinion...( based on factoids, Jacktoids ) There were supposed to be 500 Bedlam #1's... "Employee X" at Image seeing the pre demand wisely increased print run to one thousand. One thousand. period. To cover his in case of NOT selling out at NYCC he listed with Diamond. Smart. There will be minimal ( if any ) shipping via Diamond. Also... people on this board ALREADY have an unrealistic expectation of how Bedlam is to preform on the secondary market. It AIN'T out yet. Let it get reviewed. Let it develop a fan base. Let it compete on DM shelves. Let it sell through. Lets revisit Bedlam's market prices in 7 months.
  7. >> So this is part of the January solicitations from Image: • BEDLAM #1 NYCC Exclusive Variant Cover by - $10.00 NOTE: Limited quantities available. Allocations may occur. << Cant be true. It's limited to 500
  8. Oh hey, Check out my shop's market report from the mean streets of Lowell, MA & NYCC http://myemail.constantcontact.com/--comicmarket-report-from-NYCC----What-s-selling-in-Lowell--MA.html?soid=1102175080055&aid=mZy-nJHAZ0U
  9. The shop signed up 7 new subscriber to Batman Death in the family series yesterday. 69.99 for the 24 part series. They prepaid & got a nice 10%+ discount & walked out with Batman, Batgirl, Catwoman & Red Hood #13 yesterday. Every Subscriber got everything they wanted. Walk in's had Batgirl & Batman's for 6 days. The ONLY people that didn't find it fair were the people that wanted to buy multiple Catwoman's ONLY.
  10. >>Or you just call Todd...<< Siiiigh... Ok. sure. And Todd tells you to contact the individual creator first. How many variants have you done with Image? I have a couple dozen under my belt. Believe what you want.
  11. >>Sadly no one will care, but 2nd, 3rd and 4th printings of Bats 13 will be far lower then the first printing<< Wrong. Speculator / investors will NOT care.. Fans, readers absolutely will.
  12. >>I guess I can't blame you, but ouch. 24 parts is a lot of books to commit to, and would put me out of the running for sure.<< Second prints will be in stock before the next part ships.
  13. >>I guess most buyers are jumping on the quick-flip band-wagon rather than looking for a good read.<< Correct. This is the CGC forums. I'm here to talk modern speculation. Traditionally good reads are discussed on fan forums. I post about good reads on a ton of sites.
  14. >>Just contact Todd Martinez at Image. Its no secret.<< Psst, "chainnball", : I have a secret just for you, Image books are creator owned. You have to work out the specifics with the individual creator(s). Then you deal with Image central. At least that's how it has worked for me over the last decade. :0
  15. I have decided to pull Batman, Batgirl & Catwoman from the shelves. So far this week it's been non stop trouble: Non stop calls from "fans" that want to know how many they can buy. Fake Comixology sub sign ups for qty of Batgirl & Catwoman only. A confrontation yesterday with a guy that demanded to buy them all. Other shops sending in straw men to buy copies. It's just a pain in the . Moving forward I'm offering them at cover price to anybody that signs up for the 24 part Death of the Family run. I think that's fair. Second printings & the rest of the series will be available soon enough at cover price. My shop only services a few hundred subscribers. They all got theirs. Regular walk ins got Batman & Batgirl for six days. It's not my responsibility to subsidize anyone's online enterprise.
  16. >>So you DID get some. Thanks for sharing the love, especially when you told me in a PM that you would get me some.<< Actually Andy, You asked me by PM to pick you up 5 Bedlam at NYCC & to head over to the CGC booth for you and have them graded if I didn't mind. I politely said that I would try. Sorry man. I did not have the extra time at NYCC to pick you up 5 Bedlam & to head over to the CGC booth for you and have them graded. Sorry. I was considering selling you 5 raw Bedlam from NYCC upon returning Monday, but noticed that you removed yourself the PM conversation that you started. Figured you had some, they seem plentiful enough. ( even though ONLY 500 were printed I do promote comics on this system, but rarely sell them. ( I don't think I ever have ) Again Sir, I'm so sorry that I did not have the extra time at NYCC ( while servicing it's 116,000 attendees ) to pick you up 5 Bedlam & to head over to the CGC booth for you and have them graded. I still haven't unpacked MY Bedlam's pal. Sorry.
  17. Good GOD Man! I posted that info here at 7:23 am today. Catwoman is coming out of the gate, above cover price. Batman #13 is a rock solid $20 sale on Ebay right now. http://Support-the-Collectors-Society.com/sch/Comics-/63/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=CATWOMAN+13&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=63&_okw=&_oexkw=&_adv=1&LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=200&_fpos=&_fsct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50 What I know about the Bat, 13's: Last Tuesday when I saw the covers, I immediately knew that I did NOT have enough. I placed my first batch of re-orders at 10:39est & got confirmed. Later at 1p I tried to get more. EVERYTHING including Catwoman was SOLD OUT. You can't go wrong picking up Catwoman #13 at cover price. You can't go wrong picking up Red Hood & the Outlaws #13 at cover price. ( NOT officially part of the prologue BUT it's MORE of a crossover than Batgirl & Catwoman. no mask either. ) The money books are the "mask" covers only the first of ea title. to clarify: Batman #13 is a die cut Joker mask cover. #14, #15, #16, #17 are NOT Batgirl #13 is a die cut Joker mask cover. #14, #15, #16, are NOT Catwoman #13 is a die cut Joker mask cover. #14 is NOT Suicide Squad #14 is a die cut Joker mask cover. #15 is NOT Batman & Robin #15 is a die cut Joker mask cover. #16 is NOT Red Hood & the Outlaws #15 is a die cut Joker mask cover. #16 is NOT Detective #15 is a die cut Joker mask cover. #16 is NOT Nightwing #15 is a die cut Joker mask cover. #16 is NOT Teen Titans #15 is a die cut Joker mask cover. There will be 9 die cut Joker mask covers. Is buying OA, Gold, Silver & Bronze is a better investment? Yuuuuup. BUT moderns come out every week. I think it's more fun.
  18. Soooo "Garf" In your opinion, The high print runs of the Bat books make this a NO PLAY in the modern speculation arena. Should be avoided. Invest our money & time into Golden age, Original art, bronze, silver. Sage advice, indeed. Got it. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Comics-/63/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=batman+13&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=63&_okw=&_oexkw=&_adv=1&LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=200&_fpos=&_fsct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50
  19. >>I was at the show - I asked<< Me too. I asked the man that set the print run. Somebody I work with on a regular basis. I set up on Wednesday. I saw the palette. I'm perfectly fine with the number 500 being attached to this edition. ( a couple of boardies have asked me to drop this for obvious reasons. I will ) 500 Works for me.
  20. My opinion. For MAX cash. Make sets. Buy = parts weekly. Sell in 45 days.
  21. >>moved a lot of 6 NM/NM+ Batgirls at 69.99 +sh on ebay this morning. Gonna use that profit to get a few more and some Catwomans tomorrow. Probaby repeat this pattern a few times and buy myself some SA Tec/Batman issues Ive been eyeing with the proceeds. << Damn. THAT'S what it's all about. Well played Sir,
  22. Image, most publishers for that matter NEVER disclose print runs. ( Image said ltd to 500. That can mean they printed a KaJillion but were offering 500 at NYCC ) You know what? I'm sick of this game. Since I bought 100 copies, it's in my interest to have the print run be 500. 500 it is. I own 20% of the print run. Lucky me.
  23. couple of updates: http://www.dccomics.com/blog/2012/10/16/announcing-second-printings-for-batman-13-batgirl-13-and-catwoman-13 http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/10/16/speculator-corner-red-robin-and-the-outlaws-13-massive-spoiler/
  24. >>Will Image ever confirm this?<< Nope. If you do not consider me to be a credible source, go with the 500.
