  1. Damn Jon, You have a great eye. Congrats.
  2. Any Seeley fans picking this up Wednesday? If your not planning on it I might lose my house. (W) Tim Seeley, Josh Emmons (A) Tim Seeley (CA) Tim Seeley, Carlos Badilla One's a natural born killer-a remorseless hunter restlessly prowling the night for victims to quench an unnatural bloodlust. The other's a vampire. A bored vampire. His centuries of existence have left him world weary and detached, until one day his thirst is reinvigorated when the deadly and intricate work of the Sanguine Killer catches his eyes.
  3. how do you fix my links? I'm a Iphone insufficiently_thoughtful_person
  4. Get top your LCS early Wednesday & buy one of these. Thank me later... ltd to 10% of initial orders for shops that ordered the variant.
  5. Phone rang ALL day for the Bat-13's Just got word that there will be No overcovers on the second prints of Batman, Batgirl & Catwoman #13. Expect a nice price spike in first printings this week. The original overcover is a superb graphic, that will be dropping jaws for decades. It's a classic NEVER underestimate what a Joker fan is willing to pay.
  6. "Originally Posted By: LarrysComics At NYCC, I sold 100 Batman #13's for $5 ea & 100 Batgirls for $15 ea BY noontime Saturday." I guess these customers were just ripe for picking then Nice selective post. Lets call it a lie of omission, shall we? You may not agree with my logic, BUT You missed this: I figure online & conventions are fair game to charge whatever the market will bear & I order for all classes of my business.
  7. I "never" sell comics above cover at my shop. ( variants excluded ) & have built up a mid size retail volume over the years. My shop variants sell for COVER PRICE in the store. The entire program is designed to build foot traffic in store. The day of a new release we get fans from 4 states. batman #13 & Batgirl is in stock right now at cover price. I order great & customers appreciate it. My new comic stock is a KEY reason fans take the time to visit my retail shop. I figure online & conventions are fair game to charge whatever the market will bear & I order for all classes of my business.
  8. NO hidden agenda's here, "songsaboutclouds", I'm on the CGC forum first & foremost to promote the comic book art form as a collectable. because it needs promoting here It needs promoting EVERYWHERE, & I'm tireless. I have the promotional energy of a million exploding suns.

  10. To be CRYSTAL CLEAR guys... NYCC Bedlam is 1,000 copies. It was advertised as 500 in print. It was advertised as 500 on their website. It was advertised as 500 by many retailers & fans. It was advertised as 500 by the creator (who did NOT place the print order) I saw the cases on the NYCC floor Wednesday. I know who placed the print order. He wisely increased it at the last minute based on the rather obvious demand. Feels like Groundhog day.
  11. >> Especially, when they aren't really wins which are replicable.<< Snicker... http://www.ebay.com/sch/Comics-/63/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=batgirl+13&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=63&_okw=&_oexkw=&_adv=1&LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=200&_fpos=&_fsct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50
  12. Talked to Tim about the variants today. Not a big deal. That is certainly NOT the case. A very popular retailer and a few of his compadres That is certainly NOT the case. are going to be getting variant covers of some of the issues. I might be the first 12 issues, I cannot remember. That is certainly NOT the case. Wat I do know is that they are not needed, as they are printed up at a later date, ala Invincible #1 That is certainly NOT the case. Announcement coming 10-27
  13. I work with Image central on a regular basis. Bedlam #1 is NOT sold out at the distributor level. Diamond shows it STILL available for advance reorder. # AUG120461 There are 7 covers: Regular ? Third eye 1,000 Forbidden Planet ? Detroit Fanfare 500 Diamond RRP ? NYCC 1,000 10-27 variant ? My shop does NOT have a variant. ( what it does have will be announced 10-27) The Image NYCC cover ( printed by Image ) was 1,000 copies, per my excellent source at Image.
  14. Joker / Grendel comparison is dead on. Bedlam #1 feels like a nice juicy steak, It's a BIG book with an nice thick cover stock. My customer base seems to have an insatiable appetite for this type of material. Riley is a polarizing artist in my shop, you love him or hate him. I love his work. >>The ad says 500 and the printed exclusives/signings list at the Image booth says 500, so I'm going to go with 500 unless it's otherwise confirmed by Image<< If that keeps you warm at night. Go for it.
  15. At NYCC, I sold 100 Batman #13's for $5 ea & 100 Batgirls for $15 ea BY noontime Saturday. Batman was priced to $10, & Batgirl $20 on other tables. It will be pretty funny in a few weeks when the same ole board members remind me what a terrible speculation play the Bat 13's were.
  16. >>Larry's variant for issue #2.<<< There is NO such thing, Sir.
  17. Actually the run on NYCC Bedlam is 1k. I "know" what you heard. It's 1k. Word from NYCC floor is that the Image booth is "under seige" for Bedlam. I'm thrilled for Nick & Riley.
  18. >>Off on a different tack, can you post a link to your latest newsletter? Haven't seen one for a while.<< Sign up on the site. My newsletter goes out weekly. I does get old quickly Focus is retail. A lot of recycled material. Easy unsubscribe button. Market report coming after NYCC. Spread WAY too thin lately. Been swamped lately w my latest initiative. Fun details on these boards first 10-27 NYCC report. Batgirl #13 "on fire" at $10
  19. >>Given his past tweets, it's for the best he use other people's words<< Ohhhh, I KNOW which ONE of my 32,555 tweets you are referring to. You have wounded me. Well played Sir. NYCC side note: Just got a text that a well known boardie just purchased 50 copies of Bedlam #1 from the Image booth. Glad to see the community getting behind this property.
  20. I'm stealing that for a tweet. good stuff. Sometimes referred to as the "sketch nerd frenzy."
  21. NYCC floor report: Just got a call from my booth telling me to bring more blank sketch covers. VERY hot at $5-$10 ( and YES, the early dealer scramble is for Batgirl #13, sharks looking to conquer the NYCC micro market ))
  22. >>Yo, Larry, why the sarcasm?<< Yo, "500Club", You seem bright enough to figure it out on your own. ( I posted a "slightly" insulting remark that challenges the interpreter to understand the negative emotional connotation ) Eh?
  23. For people who want the complete set to have a complete set it will do ok. That's pertinent to the Moderns that are heating up on ebay thread on the CGC forums. For people who want to read the complete crossover, it will be very disappointing. I'm not sure that's really pertinent on the Moderns that are heating up on ebay thread on the CGC forums. DC fan message boards maybe? :0
  24. >>Have you read Batgirl #13?<< Content of Batgirl #13 is rock solid. Agtreed, Lame crossover material IMHO. Ed Benes is Gail Simone's Greg Capullo. It WILL be needed to complete the set. As WILL next weeks sold out Catwoman #13 In 3 months, WHICH sets will be more desirable on the aftermarket? Sets WITH prologue, OR sets WITHOUT prologue? Ultimately this book is but a bump in the road.
  25. >>don't you flip books too?<< Of course. I love it. Big flips. Small flips. Hold some long term to flip. short term flip. Show flip. Wholesale flip. E bay flip. Amazon flip. Slab flip. Since 1988 Sir.
