  1. If anyone has seen X-Men film, Days of Future Past - and if so what did you think about how they portrayed Quicksilver in the scene where he swings into action and saves Magneto from bullets and disarms the shooters? I think they did an excellent job portraying a person moving at super speed and how everything else in the room looks like it's in slow-motion. They did a very cool job on this scene! I hope DC is watching.
  2. If this last sale of a raw book is any indication, I'd say it definitely is on the rise and $13000 would be a deal today.
  3. The bidding does look a little fishy as well - a zero feedback bidder really bid it up - from $8200 to $9800 - and then it was taken over by some seemingly legitimate bidders (normal feedback) - so whatever the case it was "worth it" to more than a few bidders. I wonder what a "real" 6.0 is worth these days
  4. Not having the book in hand it's hard to say, but there is something to give us a reference point - look at the chip on the back cover, it is out of an area that is white and the paper peeking out from below is very tan. Scans can enhance stains and make tan pages look even worse - but having that reference point to compare the paper color to the white of the cover, it looks like the pages are a little tanned. The onside cover has this too. I'd put the book in the 5.0 range - but again without having the book in hand it's hard to grade it with any confidence.
  5. From what I can tell from those photos, It does has a bit of gloss, and appears to lay flat, but I agree it's a lot of money for a book that also has a lot of yellowing around the edges inside the covers and that "chad" looks fairly large. That's a lot of bread to spend on eBay for a book you can't hold in hand. But maybe there was additional behind the scenes communications. +1
  6. I'd love to see this brought to the big screen in the JLA movie.
  7. I have faith that they will
  8. Good question - I would be interested in what other shows might be around to watch. Sometimes they slip in pilots for new shows during the off-season don't they? There's always the old reruns on the DVR or direct. I'd really like to try see the 1st season of Arrow again since I wasn't as dedicated a fan in the beginning. It'd be good to see if I missed anything. I have to see where I can access. The 1st season - I don't know if they go that far back on the web site - or maybe Net flicks or something..
  9. I got a couple as well; a Rocky Mountain, a few Mohawk's (that I had slabbed for the first time ever) and Savannah's off the top of my head. I'll send you a list of what I have.
  10. A beautiful book at a very reasonable price compared to the 7.5 recently sold That 7.5 was through the roof. This was a great deal. Thanks!!! I strive to find books that are under the proverbial radar. (BTW, was that 7.5 on comicconnect?)
  11. I am assuming the same. Anything with mirror master or captain cold. Maybe kid flash... It's very early. I am assuming showcase 4 will have a price increase and continue upwards until JLA movie is released as well. 139 for sure. Prof. Zoom has already been shown in the extended trailer. And so has the Weather Wizard
  12. Now for an entree from the raw bar I just picked this nice raw copy of #21, sold by Metro as a 6.5. I think it's at least that. The creases you see are the major flaws.
  13. Holy cow, GPA high or not, that was a hefty price! Congrats on the win (thumbs u
  14. Well, white pages are popular lately, and all it takes is 2 or 3 people who need the book bidding to bid it up. It's a hard enough book to justify paying a little more to snag if you need it. Conversely, I think I got the #9 cheap, but that may be because it came up around dinner hour on Friday night. I love when that happens Lot's of things can effect the outcome of an auction.
  15. With Flash getting his own TV show, I think this thread deserves a
  16. This thread deserves a What'ya think - will GL appear (with Green Arrow) on the Flash TV show
  17. We're lucky - movies take years and then what do we get like 2-3 hours on the screen. TV rocks!
  18. Can you believe that CGC gave this a 6.0? The 5.5 I sold was 10 times nicer. Scary. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281338432113?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  19. http://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/226005/cbs-2014-15-schedule-more-csi-ncis-and-seri.html?edition=72903 "Over on CBS sibling The CW, the network looks to have what may be the most likely success among all new broadcast series next fall in “The Flash.” The CW did an excellent job of launching this show, first by making it a backdoor pilot out of “Arrow,” and then by giving it one of the splashiest introductions in all of upfront week at the network’s high-energy event. “The Flash” strikes me as a show with the potential not only to succeed but to cast a halo effect over its entire network, the way “Gossip Girl” once did."
