  1. I hope so anyway, and if this healthcare thingy pans out
  2. WOW Hepcat is bringing out the goods Nice! I always love the raw beauties you post here. PUUUUUH-LEEZE Keep em coming! P.S. I love Aquaman - watching Craig Ferguson does that to you
  3. Appreciate the definition of the new handle I've chosen - but it's not a big deal for me. Boba was actually derivative of Bob-a-loo, but a whole lot easier to type on an iPhone or tablet - but I didn't realize they don't change the name on your log-in, so the benefit of the name-change is seriously limited. (I guess that's why a lot of boardies who've changed their names - go back to their original names). CGC doesn't deem it worth their time to adjust the log in names I guess. It cuts into their selling us graders notes on our own books. So for now, I remain Boba the mighty old wash-man! Lets see some books Hepcat, I know you got em!
  4. Sa-weet! I still have a big void in my set where the Sea Devil's Showcases should be.
  5. Talk about reasonably priced keys - picked this sweet copy off of Comiclink for a song. Looks a lot nicer than a 6.0 to me. Back cover looks nice too - EXCEPT for that confound COMICLINK sticker
  6. Whatever the case it's freaking gorgeous. Congrats! Maybe it was a slabbed book they owned. Just one of their investment books not really part of the original collection they amassed. Just a guess thought.
  7. I wasn't a dedicated viewer at beginning of the 1st season, maybe it's time to re-watch those
  8. I'm more curious about the creeper guy watching Laurel at the bar. He put something in his coat like he slipped her something. Then she left her door unlocked so I was sure he was going to pop in, then Sarah would save her. Holy I totally missed that she left her door unlocked! And I replayed the scene where he picked something up and put it into his coat, over and over to see if it was something Laurel left on the bar or what - but it wasn't clear (to me or my son) if he did or what he was doing.
  9. I figured it was Sarah that Ollie called (to help Laurel) and that it was Sarah at the end when Laurel was laying on the floor out-of-it. I'm wondering, and this idea has been floated here before, if somehow Sarah either is killed by assassins or has to vanish for a while, and Laurel takes over as the Black Canary. She doesn't have the fighting skills, but (like Roy) Ollie could teach her. Anyone else think this might happen?
  10. Bought this baby from Dale Robert's holiday sale. I told him that I thought that he very conservatively graded it F/VF - when I first looked at it I thought holy mackerel, this looks better than a F/VF. There are a 2 flaws of note (besides a few stresses and edge wear) the small tear and accompanying wrinkle (tiny crease) and slight rub (top-left front cover) you can see in the scan. Funny thing is I didn't see the rub on the book when I first looked at it, and I think the scan enhances it and actually makes it look worse. Anyway, happy with the book - I may even get it slabbed. Anyone venture a guess at the grade? Was Dale conservative - I think so Oh well
  11. non-superhero, non-first appearance Showcases just dont have the market. Try assembling a set and you'll thank goodness some of them are cheaper
  12. I changed the name of the thread - to The Showcase Collecting Thread - it sounded more appropriate for what we're doing here.
  13. Thanks, actually here's mine a Mohawk Valley pedigree and it's non-pedigree companion:
  14. This Infantino cover reminds me of his Strange Adventures #205 Deadman origin cover - the same illusion of a frozen instant in time while someone is falling through space - is created.
  15. We help you clear out some of those under copies Joey oh, you meant out of photo bucket . . .
  16. I've recently acquired high-grade copies of a few Showcases (thanks in part to the help of a board member) and I can tell you they're addictive. but I also have a great appreciation for a book you can actually open and read.
  17. I was hoping folks post might post under-copies, dupes, books they're looking to sell (or heads-up they're posting them for sale in the marketplace) - stuff that others might need
  18. No one has posted one of these yet. I remember how weird this cover looked when I first saw it. DC had a great time bringing back GA superheroes and villains.
  19. Ouch, I need almost all of those. That #16 & #20 are sooooo hard to find in decent shape. .... and Savannah's no less Nice!
  20. Wow! those are really fantastic color strikes. I can smell the ink through the screen
