  1. I've stayed away from them, so I have no personal experiences. The stories of books being swapped, and gift grades is the reason why, I stayed away that is.
  2. I don't know, PGX graded books are unreliable maybe, not so pretty either. Oh and TAN pages
  3. Would Quicksilver's role in Avengers 2 dim the glow of any Flash movie? Only if Marvel does a better job portraying the character and his super-speed powers. IMHO that is . . .
  4. It would be cool, no doubt. I've always been a big fan of Flash. I think the best rendition of the character's powers came from the hands of Carmine Infantino. He devised a way to portray the Flash moving at super-speed whereby you saw what appeared to be "still images" of the Flash as he moved along, giving the illusion that he was there inside the blur of colors working his magic. No one ever did a better job of portraying the sense of speed that Carmine was able to. I'd love to see them refer to this when they set out to develop the CGI "look"of the Flash traveling along at super-speed. If they can nail that look, they will have a great portrayal of Flash and (if the -script is worth it's snuff) a good movie.
  5. Someone who can go and pick the book up in person might be the ticket
  6. Congrads Batko, that really is a gorgeous
  7. Heavy Metal had a huge effect on the comic art scene back in the 70's. I happen to think it started the conversion of comic art from basic pen and ink to highly-rendered art printed on glossy pages. Unfortunately I also happen to think Heavy Metal sold out and are now mostly about the salacious covers.
  8. That looks like some sort of reprint. There's no price on it ? hahaha your too quick. its a DC Direct with the action figure set.... i think its like 1997 or 2001 Almost had a stroke, until I noticed it had no price Should have a warning for people with weak hearts.
  9. Ok, for anyone who cared I counted: (AKA great way to avoid yard work on father's day ) Superman (AKA, the Man of Steel) is NOT on B&B #28, 29 or 30. On the cover of JLA #1 Superman and Batman ONLY appear among the tiny pieces on Despero's Chess board, and again #5 as teeny-tiny little figures in the distance, on #10 they both appear as fingers of Felix Faust, #11 their names are on beakers containing imprisoned superheroes, #19 boarding the exiles ship, #21 (JSA app), #25 Supes only, #26 Batman only, #27 Batman only, #28 Superman only, #29 (JSA app), #30 & #31 Batman, #32, 33 & 34 both, #35 Bats, #36 Supes and from about #38 on they appear pretty consistently on the covers I think that's pretty freakin' incredible. My son says he heard something about the people involved on the actual titles (Batman and Superman) had issue with the characters appearing on the Justice League Of America covers. If that's the case, very interesting politics at play within DC at the time. Anyone know more about this it would be cool to know.
  10. Isn't it ironic that B&B #28 values are effected so by a film about a character who only makes a cameo appearance in the comic? I was looking for Superman on the covers of B&B and JLA comics in the database comics.org and it's incredible how few covers Superman and Batman appear on. I should go back and count them, because it seemed rather remarkable when i was scanning the covers.
  11. You of all people should have jumped on that 6.0 I know, but I do already have one in 6.0 and I wasn't completely acclimated to the new pricing of this book and I thought it was maybe a bit ambitious. I see now that was wrong. Oh well, missed the boat again
  12. I'm kicking myself for not buying it when you had it listed at $4500 It would have made a nice companion to my other 6.0's.
  13. Just log in and on the left hand side is a column with links to your bids, watched items etc. If you want to see auction results, use the links on the top of the home page.
  14. Ditto (thumbs u B&B #28 is destined to continue to rise if people enjoy Man of Steel as much as I did at last nights preview. If this is any indication, Warner threw down the gauntlet last night. Maybe coincidental, but on comicconnect DC SA auction prices seemed to be quite strong last night. Most of the books I wanted went out of range.
  15. If they only had Flash, GL, and WW, than that would be better I love the cover, but I am swayed heavily DC being a GL and Flash fan. Which DC cover is your favorite? My favorite DC cover of all time is definitely detective 31.. It's dark, simple, and hands down for me the best cover in DC What about SA covers? Right off, one of the most iconic is Superman #199 the Flash Superman race. That one still gives me goosebumps.
  16. Good for who, the buyer or seller . Hold onto a book for long enough and most will eventually work their way back in price if the title reemains popular. If indeed 6.0's are selling for that high a price I did well for my $1600 a few years back. Just about makes up for my buying those SC #22's at the height of the frenzy. Even that book is rebounding as some have indicated in that book's club thread.
  17. True, those movies all had a goofy side to them. Different times. TBH the Hackman / Luther and Valerie Perrine are my least favorites aspects of that movie.
  18. A Showcase 22 6.5 sold for $6000 and a 3.0 for $1366 Getting back to where it was
  19. At the end of the day, if the movie is as good as it sounds, it will rise above the mud (thumbs u
