  1. Questions: 1) Anyone have the whole ASM run (let's say 1-700) ? 2) how common/uncommon is it to have collected the whole run ? 3) let's say first 100 books average out to fine, then the rest are VF-mint, what value would you place on the whole run (estimate) ? Thanks
  2. Not the tape that gets it a 1.8, amount of brittleness is the issue......still nice-looking book though I always thought, but I put it in a holder (the original CGC one in 2011) and figured that's where it should stay forever. Not a book to be flipped through for sure
  3. Yes......... and I really miss that 31 especially !!!! I think Ben would also agree (another former owner) that this one made no sense for brittle PQ
  4. That is my former copy that I sold on CLink earlier this year, Sorry, no way it's a 3.0 in any universe. And quite a lot of brittleness. Now the other 1.8 brittle I sold at the same time - the Tec 31 - could never understand how it got the same "brittle" pages designation, in hand was quite supple, just some minor problems at edges is all.
  5. I think all markets ebb and flow, move up and down - and then up again -- and then down again But I do believe that AF15 is a rock-solid book looking from an investment perspective, as I do believe that it will move upwards overall over time. I you are a flipper of comics for profit, you will always be at risk , but that's the nature of the business of flipping whatever market you are in
  6. Comics are like crack, never satisfied... ^^^^^This
  7. Very altruistic of people to be so concerned about "any potential owners" ........... not sure I buy that one.............. anyway, I'm not pointing fingers, just commenting on Ray's comment about where the chat boards are now. My feeling over the years of reading many many threads about big books in auctions (especially in Gold) is generally that of negativity towards the grade/look of the books to the point where one has to wonder if people do try to influence the outcome of certain auctions/sales. If I'm a seller, or a soon-to-be seller of said book, I would be unhappy to read such down-talking of a book. If I were a dealer or prospective buyer, I would encourage the down-talking. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, as I've been and will be in both positions many more times I expect, just pointing out that the Chat Boards aren't always rainbows and unicorns and I don't think they've changed that much over the years.
  8. I remember even back when I first joined the Boards in 2007 , that "big" books for sale were often hammered for every micro defect , CGC grades questioned and typically talked downwards, I'm not so sure that has changed much. And I'm talking about this happening mainly in Gold threads. I just think that AF15 has now become one of those really "big" books, especially speculation wise , for dealers or collectors who want to quick flip (pseudo-dealers).
  9. Very nice - and a fellow Ontarian as well !! (Go Leafs Go)
  10. It finally arrived! Love ❤️ it!!
  11. ASM #33 for sure !! and not sure so much about "reading" it, but just "experiencing" those 3 pages of anguish Spidey goes thru and the way Ditko expresses it with his art...Just incredible !!!
  12. A few years ago, the only "wanted" item I had in my sig line was an Action #58. Someone PM'd me and asked me why, of all things I was saying I wanted/needed, was I listing the Action #58 and sort of laughed at it. My response was that, honestly, I hadn't been able to find one for sale or in any auction and it was the only early War cover I still needed. Luckily, I was able to score a mid-grade copy finally, but even since then have never really seen it very often .......
  13. The only reason I wasn't yet quite done with this thread is because the Rick's and the Roy's were still trying to bring expertise and insight to a very interesting topic. I must say, if guys like that are out, I may not tune in here anymore either , although I love all the AF15 discussion. It's just getting a bit frustrating now...... reminds me of a certain Mitch a little while ago in seemingly every Gold thread............
  14. AMAZING !!! ( no pun intended) thank you, had no clue. Appropriate place for these for sure
  15. Has anyone ever seen original art of AF15 ever? does it exist? How freaking cool would it be to own even 1 page of original art from that book OMG can't even imagine what even a page would go for .....
  16. The one thing I don't understand, if we go with the theory that a Grail book can sell for a crazier-than-normal price because the buyer feels it's upgradeable (is that a word?) is this: Why wouldn't the seller - the seller - make sure he maximizes on the sale by getting the upgrades done himself. I for one, if I sell at all, will always send my book to Matt Nelson and make sure he analyzes it as an expert and does whatever he can to it to maximize it for me. Why would someone not be in tune with this when selling high-end books? Seems way too risky for ROI to not do something like this. BTW I love my AF15's, would never sell them if I had a say in it.
  17. The thread is called THE AMAZING FANTASY #15 CLUB I think the members of this club are just a bit more excited being members given the latest insane sale of $57K I think it was a little harsh to "shut up" a fellow member, but indeed I think there is a mix of excitement, disbelief, fear, trepidation surrounding this book right now, and it ALL has to do with past, current and future values, and some of us are getting a bit crazy right now, and some of us (maybe the more knowledgable, experienced ones) are more in control. It's all good, I want everyone and anyone to keep posting here - for me I learn a lot from both ends of the spectrum here. Me I'm just an average Joe with some knowledge, but nothing close to the big players on here.
