    Yes.

I honestly believe your methodology is flawed. A difference of a few degrees can make a huge difference. The pictures would have to be taken at the same exact alignment, distance, and height to match up perfectly for your method. Also, the lighting is different. That's science.

You will find that experienced collectors can tell whether or not a comic is the same one in different pictures, Especially on these boards.

Or are a lot of these actually sold for making t-shirts?

Seems like we are going to run out of pressable books soon.

I'm not surprised that an enterprising huckster would market a t-shirt press for pressing comics. It looks like the same press that is sold for less as a t-shirt press. I'm sure you could press comics with this press. It has heat and pressure. You see these types of presses being used in Youtube videos for how to press comics tutorials. How good of a job you can achieve is questionable, especially in the hands of somebody who knows nothing about pressing and gets bad info from watching those videos.

Sure. Last year, his rate was probably $50k or more. So $10k in 1981 wasn't that nuts.

$10,000 in 1981 was a huge chunk of change. That's about 2/3 of the average annual income that year, You could have bought 20,000 new comics off the newsstands at cover price.

Looking back now, what spoils them for me is the frequently bombastic, almost metal lyric-like dialogue.

    But, still enjoyable in places.

Kirby’s Fourth World is fantastic as far as concept and art. His vision was awesome. But for me, his writing was wanting, especially the dialog. He was a great artist and idea man, he just was not very good in expressing it in words IMO.

Embrace Jesus into your heart as your Lord and savior, get on your knees, and pray, young man!  Cherubs will deliver them while you sleep, and only charge you 50% of FMV.

Or sell your soul to the Devil.

Seriously, there are no big secrets. You just have to put in some sweat equity. And the more you look, the more you find. And don't forget to tell people you know that you're looking for comics. Nothing like having a bunch of other people looking for you.
