  1. I go to conventions. Not necessarily to buy, but to enjoy the experience. The thrill of the hunt in the dollar boxes. Being able to gawk at the wall books. Hold a key that you probably will never own. Check out the cosplayers. Talk comics with fellow collectors. Maybe get a signature or two (the free ones). And maybe splurge a little on a comic that I just had to have (of course, I going to haggle). There you go, cheap entertainment for the day, assuming the admission is not too high,

I wanted one of these and I was going to put in the lake nearby where we lived.   I was going to be the next Jacques Cousteau. I had no idea it was cardboard.   Probably a good thing I never had the money or I would been at the bottom of the lake to this day.

A friend of mine bought one. It was basically a large cardboard box with printing on its side.

  3. I think consideration should be given as to why there is Media Mail. My understanding is that it was intended to be a cost-efficient way to send educational material. I’m certain it was not created for sellers to send comic books. I’m sure most comics sent through the mail are not educational material. Although an argument may be made that it is not specifically prohibited in the DMM, you’d be overlooking the “spirit” of the rule. Besides, as it has been pointed out over and over, Media Mail is not the best option for sending comics.

  4. Remember, WalMart is not in the market just to sell to collectors. They sell things for profit, not to cater to collectors' interest. Having said that, if this venture is successful, maybe comics will be more readily available in places other than comic shops. I don't think comics will ever gain popularity as it did in years past, but maybe there will be more a more widespread distribution than it is now.:wishluck:

I remember when Lone Wolf and Cub first came out in 1987. Frank Miller gave it his approval and BAM I was there. Got very repetitive very quickly.  As a side note: in 1987 I saw a film marathon of the Baby Cart Assassin movies which are based on the old japanese Lone Wolf comics (Roger Corman would take the best parts of the series and make the compaltion film Shogun's Assassin) . Saw it at the old Sing Lee theater in downtown Los Angeles, andold Japanese only theater going back to the 30s. I had to put my feet up in the chair in front of me because if I didn't roaches crawled up my leg.

Sounds like the old run-down theater my buddy and I used to go to in the 70s and 80s. It was an adult movie place before they start showing martial arts flicks. The floor was so sticky I was afraid my shoes would come off.

I am the same way. Heck, we combined all of our finances before we were even married. It works for us. I was actually surprised when I heard people kept separate finances. But obviously different things work for different people.

We combine all our finances. What's mine is hers, and what's hers is hers. Wait a minute...I need to talk to her.
