  1. It really depends on the condition of the house and location. Key comics would be more liquid than a fixer-upper in a bad location. I would just offer boxes of drek.
  2. I go to conventions. Not necessarily to buy, but to enjoy the experience. The thrill of the hunt in the dollar boxes. Being able to gawk at the wall books. Hold a key that you probably will never own. Check out the cosplayers. Talk comics with fellow collectors. Maybe get a signature or two (the free ones). And maybe splurge a little on a comic that I just had to have (of course, I going to haggle). There you go, cheap entertainment for the day, assuming the admission is not too high,
  3. How many fans is he meeting at private signings?
  4. It wasn't too long ago these comics were considered drek. I guess I'm fortunate to have a few around simply because I couldn't move them before. It still amazes me how a mention of a movie deal can propel books which had little demand for years to heights not imagined a few months ago.
  5. Why does he have to sign books any more? Why force him to do anything he may not want to do? Let him enjoy what little(?) time he h as left. I know fans want his sig, but the people handling him seem to just exploit him for monetary gain.
  6. A friend of mine bought one. It was basically a large cardboard box with printing on its side.
  7. Years ago, I sold a VG Flash #105 for $15.00. Also, I traded a Green Lantern #1 for Howard the Duck #1. Being a Marvel zombie, I wasn't interested much in DC at the time.
  8. I think consideration should be given as to why there is Media Mail. My understanding is that it was intended to be a cost-efficient way to send educational material. I’m certain it was not created for sellers to send comic books. I’m sure most comics sent through the mail are not educational material. Although an argument may be made that it is not specifically prohibited in the DMM, you’d be overlooking the “spirit” of the rule. Besides, as it has been pointed out over and over, Media Mail is not the best option for sending comics.
  9. Some want perfectly centered copies of everything. However, slight miswraps never really bothered me.
  10. There's no real urgency for CGC to tackle the problem when people continue to submit.
  11. I finally got around to seeing it. I was somewhat entertained, but that was about it. Nothing to rave about. My friend felt it was so-so and based on this movie, he would not be inclined to see any more Antman movies.
  12. I think you have to consider that printing was more of a manual process back then. A lot of the variations were simply human error.
  13. Remember, WalMart is not in the market just to sell to collectors. They sell things for profit, not to cater to collectors' interest. Having said that, if this venture is successful, maybe comics will be more readily available in places other than comic shops. I don't think comics will ever gain popularity as it did in years past, but maybe there will be more a more widespread distribution than it is now.
  14. I'll take #57. Thanks, LordRahl. And again, Thanks to ThirGreenHam and sckao for all their hard work.
  15. Definitely Marvel Two-in-One Annual #2 and Avengers Annual #7. Starlin at his best.
  16. Sounds like the old run-down theater my buddy and I used to go to in the 70s and 80s. It was an adult movie place before they start showing martial arts flicks. The floor was so sticky I was afraid my shoes would come off.
  17. Did you get the Dark Phoenix Saga in X-Men comics which started around 1980?
  18. We combine all our finances. What's mine is hers, and what's hers is hers. Wait a minute...I need to talk to her.
