  1. After seeing how horrible Luke Cage was portrayed in my opinion on Jessica Jones I know have no faith any future productions evolving Mike Randal Colter as Luke Cage.

I would have rather seen Dave Chappelle at Luke Cage:

So interesting how we all can see things so differently since I thought he did a great job as Luke in Jessica Jones.

  2. Do not read this unless you've finished the whole series:

Really enjoyed the show, but the last episode was such a let down. Shockingly anticlimactic. I felt like they missed some big opportunities:

    - Would have been awesome to see him actually turn purple, like they were hinting at.

    - Would have been awesome to see Daredevil show up like Clair hinted at.

    - Would have been awesome to see the ending follow the source material a little closer, i.e. Luke and Jessica's "big news".

    - Wtf happened to Nuke? Totally left a loose end with his character. Would have been cool o see him return for the final "battle".

    - How dumb was Killgraves death? Predictable.

Sorry for the semi rant, I loved 12 out of 13 episodes, but man the last episode was poorly executed in my opinion. Great show with a terrible ending. rantrant

I also have spoiler-y comments with some different thoughts:

I do totally agree that they dropped the ball with Nuke & that was very annoying. They may have missed some opportunities but I loved the Daredevil tie-in in the last episode with Rosario Dawson. I didn't hear her character name & don't remember it from DD but recognized her as an actress with more of a reputation than the others in the show & was confused why she'd show up in the last episode. When she started talking about her "friend" in Hell's Kitchen it finally clicked. Nice way to link the characters together for future shows & to give comic geeks a nice bonus. I also remember in Bronze/Copper Age storylines that Jeryn Hogarth was Danny Rand's lawyer so maybe Jeri Hogarth is laying groundwork for the Iron Fist series?

I did get very tired of Jessica's self-loathing, especially at the end when she killed Kilgrave & saved everyone and still looked like she was in a pit of despair. Overall I did like the series & I might have to go watch Daredevil again.

  3. I'm on episode 11 & I've been liking it. I do think the private investigator stereotype is way overdone (angry, loner, drunk) in the show. I don't really know anything about the JJ character from the comics so I don't know how that affects viewing but I've been enjoying most of it so far. Some "twists" seem heavily foreshadowed but love the Nuke references & I think Luke is portrayed very well.

  4. There is an old DC that I remember having some time around the mid-1970s, It is a Superman comic and I'm positive (I think I am, may be misremembering) that it had Superman carring Lois Lane in a wedding dress. It should be a 25c comic, but I have gone over all the DC covers I can think of (Action,Adventure,Superman, Worlds Finest,, Superman Family) and I can't seem to find the cover I'm looking for. I would love to pick up a copy of the comic in question. Anyone have any ideas? It is not Action 484 btw. Possible a splash page?

    One of these maybe?

It's easy to find books by Barks' but they have been well-read. Here are the first 16 stories but I am missing a few covers.

Very cool group! I have a copy of #35 (2nd row on the left with Huey, Dewey & Louie in the fridge) & I just love the cover. The refrigerator brand is "Phreezo" & for whatever reason that just cracks me up every time I see it. The happy looks on the nephews' faces & typical angry Donald are great too.

I cringe at the idea of children sleeping in a frig but I don't blame Barks. He didn't do any of the covers until much later I think.

    lol

  6. Do you guys collect those comics? I have been purchasing newer copies of those I remember reading as a child. Every time I see one in the wild that I'd forgotten all about it brings back memories.. I seriously get goosebumps.. Its like reuniting with an old friend

I get some here & there, it's always a totally nostalgic experience and I thoroughly enjoy it.
