  1. Does anyone know if a Pacific Coast copy of 175 exists? If so, what condition is it in?
  2. He does look like he is in a strain. Otherwise, I like that cover.
  3. very cool. It presents better than a 6.0.
  4. Fool Killer in the general room was cracking on the JLA #1 as being a "silly" cover. I cannot disagree more but wondered what our JLA friends think of the early covers. I love them.
  5. Is it just me or are the early JLA the best silver age covers period. All three of those are classics.
  6. The Lois Lane #1 looks like a real nice book. Very Cool Setup.
  7. It is my grail book. In 1988, a comic book store in Miami bought a complete run of flash including the Showcase issues all unrestored. I was in college at the time and did not have a lot of cash. He sold the 105 at NM and at the time it would have been a 9.2-9.4. I bought it for 1100.00 and I sold it for 1500.00 and because of my handling was probably a 9.0. The sad thing is that I passed on the SC 4. Easily an 8.5 and he was selling it for 1500.00. It seemed quite expensive at the time but of course that was before the one at Soethbys sold for 4,000. Hopefully, I will own this book one day.
  8. Has anyone taken a look at C-Link's August auction. A lot of Flash action again. Are the prices just drawing books out or is it normal for this many high grade books to appear? Since August we have had: Rubin's Marlowe's Fantastic Frank's David Toth's and a whole slew of others. I feel a lot of pressure to buy now because I am not sure if the quality books will be there in a year or two. I missed out on a couple in the last round of auctions and I was a little ticked off.
  9. I know I will be happy. It is still pretty high on the census list and has really nice eye appeal. One day until Heritage......
  10. I got a few of the Western Penns in the C-Link Auction. Here is a taste.
  11. Yes and no. Prior to these big finds, if there was a book I really wanted which was the "highest census book" (ie: JLA #6 CGC 9.4)....I could see myself bidding very very aggressively to win it at all cost (thinking this is my only shot at having this book because there will never be another 9.4 or better book). But, now I'm not too sure about that. This may be the ONLY 9.4 or better copy or there could be a few more (possibly surfacing in the next 5-10 years as collections are being sold for various reasons). i think tim needs this book so you don't have to worry I am new. Who is Tim and what book does he need?
  12. Not sure yet... but here is another: BTW, thanks for the info. I thought the scan looked awful nice for 9.0 and you can barely see that corner issue. I am sure I will like it.
  13. I got sniped on the 105 & 137. But I also picked this one up:
  14. With these big finds coming out, does it scare you away from bidding on these top census books. There is a 9.4 Flash 123 in Heritage and this JLA find makes me nervous to even bid on them.
  15. I picked up this guy in the C-Link Auction this week.
  16. Newbie Questions---- 1. Why does CGC give the overall grade based on the interior cover instead of the exterior cover. 2. Have you ever come across one where the exterior cover was the better of the two.
  17. Does the Tigress follow the comic code for chest size. Her's seems awful small by comic standards. I think he should get some pointers from Jim Lee.
  18. Two of my favorites not mentioned were: Irv Novick Flash 205ish-290ish. Probably the best of the series. Tim Truman- Airboy some of the most awesome covers from the 80s.
  19. Showcase 8 CGC 8.0 below guide. I was kind of suprised.
