  1. That's a pretty good copy to get the ball rolling. (thumbs u
  2. One sold on the board last week for a reasonable GPA average. This one blew out the average. Walking Dead CGC 9.8
  3. I saw this on Pedigree's site. It is a magazine, but is this a UTR book or is it well known?
  4. I just finished 60 and can't beleive this series keeps getting better. I bought 55-60 in book form after reading 9 trades and I will for sure be buying this monthly. The letter pages are great. The cover previews are tantalizing. I keep seeing this plot "dead" ending but somehow Kirkman keeps it fresh and keeps the story moving. I want a number one CGC 9.8. I have always been opposed to moderns thinking Silver age stuff is a much better buy but I think I might make an exception on this one. Any comments one way or the other?
  5. That is really nice. Not too many available with a 9 on them.
  6. So which one's are which in CGC's census and why do they all say variant?
  7. I think the variant not only has a photo on the back cover but photos on the inside covers as well. Here is what I found. This is the inside and outside covers for the most rare edition. There has only been one of these graded by CGC. What i don't know is what is inside on the common issues138 graded by CGC or the the other variant only 19 graded by CGC.
  8. I really love that run. I can still remember reading it the first time and thinking, this is way different.
  9. and I don't these out for just anything.
  10. Batman 1 and the JIM junk. Bats #1 is a grail book.
  11. Let's see a scan unless you plan on coming to this page everyday.
  12. Comic Alert. You do not see many of these everyday. Comic Link Flash 123
  13. Which personally for me that is a question I need help answering. Should I lay out big money for 9.0 DC books from 1956-1963. Books graded 9.0 are the highest grade in most cases. Will they be challenged and relegated over the next ten years by more collections. If the Toth collection is a good indicator, then it appears 9.0 copies will be pretty safe.
  14. Wow, I have something in common with David Toth because those are my favorites as well. Did CGC know about the entire collection or think you first submissions from Heritage was it.
  15. I think it is well done no matter grading or pressing. You have to be talented and have an eye to pick the right books. As long as pressing is allowed by CGC, people are going to press books and you have to assume every slab you own with a new label could have been pressed. The thing we don't know is how many books and how many tries it takes to land the big one. When a fisherman lands the 10 lb bass all we see is the photo, we did not see the years and thousands of casts it took to get that fish.
  16. Tim, Why in the world is this collection not able to get Pedigree status. With all the small collections that they given them out to, it seems this one would be a slam dunk. I know it is not all an original collection but good God, the stuff that has sold on Heritage alone is impressive. The good thing is if they ever give it status any book in a holder would be traceable all the way back to the Toth's. That is the beauty of slabs. Andrew, I'll place my order today for one box of DC.... no make that 22. (thumbs u
  17. I would totally agree with that. It seems that DCs just don't get the love on Comic Link that they do on Heritage for some reason. The wierd part of it is anyone spending that type of money on books has to know about CL. On topic: How many long boxes do you think you have left and how many of them are graded. My advice is just don't get impatient with the process. Comic books neither eat nor sleep and patience in selling will net you a lot more cash than selling them in chunks or selling to a dealer.
  18. Yeah, he must have got in over his head or worse found some Marvel junk he wanted.
  19. Tim, Steve sold the 9.6 on Doug's site and then that copy sold again last October on CL. for 7900.00 something. I have a 9.2 with white pages that I can be happy with. I made a run at the PC but got sniped in the end. I guess I get suprised when a 5K book is just snapped up in less than an hour on a site.
  20. Holy , I saw that and said that seems like a high price for that book. It looks a little rough on the lower left corner but overall what can you say about a sale that quick.
  21. Showcase 4- It has the higher grade and has a lot more room to run price wise. Suprisingly, if you look at the census, SC4 and Cap1 have about the same number of copies from 8.5 up. Historically, I would argue SC4 is more important. Looks wise, the both have killer covers. Longterm, I think the issue is not golden vs. silver but supply and demand which I think demand would favor SC4. And of course I am a Flash fan, so that helps as well.
