  1. Metropolis, Heritage, Comic Connect, Detective27kid, Harley Yee, Comic Link, Ebay, auctions houses and dealers has sold multiple copies of this book since July 2009. As we speak, we are witnessing descent prices for all low grade copy and especially high grade copies. Dealers are aware that SC22 is in high demand and collectors and investors want to own this book. The 8.0 Mound City copy will set the tone for the high grade copies. I think copies under 4.0 has very little upside in the short term. On the other hand, supplies are scarce for copies 5.5 and above. i think any copy is hard to come by....especially when anything available is being bought up...by us. if you could buy a af15 raw at 10-15 years ago prices....think about that... the supply vs demant is just not there...i just bought 6 raw books from obscure stores across the county....there are only so many books available....i called 150 stores for 6 books. So a lot of the small shops that specialize in new books have no clue, which kind of confirms my experience. My shop did not have one but the owner has no clue this board exists. He is barely aware of CGC and thinks they are only for mail order. He thinks his 7.0-8.0 bronze age books are high grade but he does a good business, made it through the 90s bust and is having the best year in his existence. So SC22 is not on his radar.
  2. Thanks. Hopefully they will be preserved in their tombs for a long time. Of course there is another 9.0 110 OW coming up in november if someone wants one.
  3. So who knows about this ramp up in prices. Is it limited to a small number of collectors and dealers or does everyone know to play the one year before movie card?
  4. Thanks, the 110 is really nice. I have no idea what that white dot is on the scan but it is not on the book thankfully. I'm not a big fan of the cover but it is a monster key for DC. Kid Flash was a star in two Teen Titan series and of course had his own book for 247 issues. There are not too many characters that have that kind of staying power. I have always been a big Barry Allen fan as you could expect but Wally has grown on me the last two years. I really did not like how Marv Wolfman always protrayed him as a young gun ahole. But like all of us he has matured over the years.
  5. I have to go to the shop on Walking Dead Wednesday. That book has to be read first. I love Andrea. I wish I could shoot like her. That is a skill to be desired.
  6. Somebody posted a 129 in the silver age section. Bronze age is where it is at for Spider Man. It is a great run of books and covers.
  7. So he feels like he is in the game.
  8. That's because there are 1241 graded copies of AF15 and only 246 of SC22. There is more pressure on this side of the fence. You blink and a copy may slip by.
  9. So the current census has 192 unrestored copies, 2 qualified, and 52 restored copies for a grand total of 246 total copies. Now that the mania is on how many copies will be added to the list in the next 6 months.
  10. Comics will always brighten a dark day, especially a golden age key. Nice book.
  11. And the retell of the origin by Geoff Johns made it an even better story. (thumbs u Everyone that makes a profit on SC 22 should pay a surcharge to Geoff Johns. He might be the most important factor in the resurgence of Hal Jordan.
  12. That is a great copy and Abin Sur is the greatest hero that never was.
  13. Somebody post a silver age book quick, so I can get this bad taste out of my mouth.
  14. If they do I bet 9 out of 10 will be 5.5 or lower. What does it say about our hobby that the key issue threads have more interest than the title threads?
  15. I think this is a book at this time that a collector should only be selling at auction. That way everyone competes. If you set a price you might be leaving a lot of money on the table.
  16. Have you ever wondered how big the puppet master is?
  17. People must be hanging on to them There is only one ebay right now.
  18. Hmmn, I don't know. If they are, then he would be a rascal to deal with on a raw book anyway. It went to 203.50. That seems pretty strong for a raw book. You could get a 9.6 graded for that price. So you really are banking on that copy to be a 9.8. That is a risk not worth taking in my book.
  19. Man, that 6.0 that Mark sold last year is looking better and better each day. He had a whole collection of mid-grade keys with nice page quality.
  20. personally, i'd say hold off. i could be wrong, but i think you can find a raw copy for a little less than that. but i will say this; i think anything less than $200 for a near mint copy is a good deal in the LONG run. imagine if the series is still (should be) running in 2015? think about all the people who will have multiple copies. the best thing is that we're close to 100 issues, and it's been great, and it's still great, which will give people a reason to want to collect every issue. great/good art. great story. absolutely great letters page. great characters. you just can't lose with the walking dead. esp. the first 25 issues (tony moore issues). If I hold off will you be posting it next week.
  21. I'm in the market for a high grade GL 7, but no luck. Very tough book. Even Metropolis has not had one in ages (and they can find pretty much anything). The problem with 7 is Sinestro doesn't appear on the cover and 7 is so tough to find. Looks like there's a very nice copy of 7 in the Mound City collection, though. That is a nice copy. Too bad it's not graded. I think for the long term, GL 7 should do very well. It is graded and is a 9.0. So, it ranks up there. It really is too bad he is not on the cover.
  22. There is a raw issue ending tonight with a bid of 150.00 but the dude has a no return policy. I just can't bring myself to bid on it.
