  1. Looks 8.0 as is to me. One of the stand out covers of the time, with the white background! Gorgeous copy!
  2. I'll kick off with my estimate of 7.0 and possibly a 7.5 once cleaned & pressed. That back corner is the luck of the draw when it comes to bindery and factory trimming issues and probably does limit the potential to some extent. It's whether the dirt on the 'x-men' logo will come off. Edit: Could it be ink transfer given the amount of solid black in the back cover advert! Will that clean off easily? You've got what looks like a printers crease back cover bottom edge which in itself isn't a defect but the way it's picked up the dirt (more ink transfer?) could be difficult to get clean.
  3. I'm revising my earlier effort to 6.0 or 6.5 (these old eyes!)
  4. I started at VG+ then lowered to VG when I saw the back cover. Presents well and better to have the front nicer than the back. Edit: Gotta love a T&P stamp! To think some lucky blighter paid two bob for it. Not sure I've seen a UK distributed copy before! Congrats!
  5. Why not post some pics or scans of them in the Hey Buddy Can You Spare Me A Grade section of the forum. There are some battle hardened board members who will be able to give you pretty good idea of the grade of each copy and give you good feedback on any flaws they can see. Make sure to title each thread with with 'Copy 1 of 7' etc as you list them. One book per thread and three books maximum per day. Welcome to the forum!
  6. People often take multiple hi Res scans and/or photos so that they have a record of before and after.
  7. Hi, I think yours is a question for the Ask CGC section of the forum! Although there will be members who can answer it too. Welcome, by the way.
  8. There will be collectors for whom bound volumes are of particular interest. They may be the minority of collectors though. Given the contents of the volume, I would say this will definitely widen the interest in this item, but only if it has sufficient exposure/ advertising prior to the sale.
  9. Do you think that PK Das bought these as individual comics, then had them bound? I see the initials at the base of the spine. Very interesting volume and thank you for sharing pictures with us. I love it when unusual items like this turn up!
  10. I picked up a nice Batman B&W when I was in Amritsar a while back. Managed to keep it flat in my case and it's still in nice shape now. I didn't see many comics though, when I was in India and only one skateboard, although the Jantar Mantar in Delhi looked like a futuristic skatepark on a giant scale. I'm sure I would have been arrested for trying to skate it too.
  11. Thanks for the history of your inheritance. Your new mutants book looks to have a lot of waviness down the right hand side. Could be from handling or from storage in less than perfect conditions at some point in its life. I would hesitate to call this a high grade book in its current state. Maybe post scans or hi Res photos in the Hey Buddy, Can You Spare A Grade section of this forum to get a clearer idea from board members what grade it is currently and whether a press would benefit and make it worthwhile to be graded by CGC. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
  12. In the low 9.0s with just that bottom right corner keeping it from going higher.
  13. 8.5 or 9.0 based on lack of creases bends and staples tears. Absence of soiling and tanning too. Very clean bright copy.
  14. With a website like that, I'm surprised they do any business.
  15. From what I can see, close to 7.0 with the discolouration holding it back.
  16. I won't go higher than 4.5 but having the price variant is pretty cool. And for $4 you did really well.
  17. Can't find fault with that, looks 9.0ish. Not seen a square bound from this era look so sweet.
  18. Looks 7.5 to me with the cleanliness of it and bright fresh colours.
  19. Solid VG territory but no higher imo.One of the great covers (and splashes) of the silver age!
  20. Instinct says 1.5 to 1.8 but leaning lower of the two. The Spidey key bump might take it higher though in CGCs eyes.....
