  1. That would be my guess as well. He did the cover and that looks like his scribble.
  2. Curious where this transaction took place. Im guessing Facebook?
  3. To be fair I’m quite certain that the offer of 2.5M came before the ask of 6.5M. The ask is in part based on not only other sales but the ever increasing private offers on the Lotus.
  4. You won't ever get that. If you don't want to believe it that is fine. You aren't a buyer or seller of this material anyway. That being said all I can tell you is to wait. Most transactions in this market at these levels are private and will continue to be that way. Still one day an item from this field is bound to have a public sale and that public sale will raise eyebrows with everyone outside looking in. When it does just know that it didn't come from nowhere. The MTG art market has been moving along quickly behind the scenes without the high profile public sales that you are looking for.
  5. For sure I'd do the same thing and in part that is what makes this situation so interesting to me.
  6. I understand why you would feel that way. However, it is not being priced like a Frazetta. It is being priced like the most desirable Magic card artwork. Those guys don't care what Frazettas sell for. They care what other Magic items sell for. If less desirable items sell for 750k or 1M then they want multiple millions for the best piece available.
  7. I would if I could. Far too late for that.
  8. I understand what you saying but there is a difference here. The difference is that we have multiple sales of several different grades to go off of when we figure out what a comic book it is worth. You can with some degree of accuracy determine the value of any comic book for insurance or otherwise. Paintings are one of a kind and harder to value but there are some things that we do know. When it comes to Magic the Black Lotus is clearly the top of the heap. No one disputes that and #2 #3 #4 etc are a good distance away. No matter what it is worth one thing is clear the Black Lotus artwork is worth more than any other Magic artwork. So when lessor examples sell for 750k or 1M it isn't that far of a stretch to say that the Black Lotus artwork is worth more than that at least in the mind of the seller. So what it is worth in todays market? Clearly more than any other piece of Magic art. How much more well who is to say? Could the entire market burst like the Bitcoin market of 2017? Sure that is possible too. Personally I don't own any Magic art but I think that these things are fun to watch.
  9. Why would you say that? You could call him a lair and I couldn't argue because I don't know. You could call him crazy for turning down an offer of 2.5 and I couldn't argue that either. However, you can't say that this person (one that you have never met and don't know) would have to accept said offer if in fact it was made. if you read his posts one thing is very clear. The seller at least believes it is worth millions.
  10. I don't think anyone here is saying that his statement has been confirmed. Still I can at least confirm the Timewalk sale and if that happened then a 2.5M offer for Lotus is at least possible.
  11. That post is confusing. Buyer of Timewalk is not the buyer of the Mox. So it wasn't one sale.
  12. Who has wheel of fortune? The buyer or the seller?
  13. That is my understanding. Not just for this particular mox but for all 6 of them. The mox gems themselves are all photocopies cut and placed on top of a pre-printed background. I’ve seen the artist or his agent post about the process when he sells commissions on Facebook. ————Edit———— A quick search turns up his website which details both his original process and how he makes them today. http://danfrazier.com/Dan_Frazier/Mox_Remakes.html
  14. Looks like there is a high six figure sale pending on the ALL STAT Emerald Mox. If this happens that has to be a record for non OA illustration art. Alpha Mox Emerald Original Painting by Dan Frazier -$750,000 USD
  15. Cover of #5 was on eBay with a 5 digit price and did not sell years ago. 10+ years I would guess.
  16. Thanks for the advice guys. I do appreciate it. Early on in my collecting days I had a bad experience and lost some irreplaceable art in a UPS train derailment. This is sort of thing that keeps me up at night
  17. I'm going to have to remove it from the frame to get the exact size but while bigger than your comic art page it isn't huge. Not sure what the limits are for a carry on as I haven't flown since 2004 or so.
  18. Might remove it from the frame unless the buyer wants it in frame. However, it can't be rolled. Like almost all videogame artwork it is painted on board.
  19. Working out the final details on a sale. Just have to iron out payment and delivery details. Everything seems to be getting more expensive all the time but this is the most that I’ve ever dealt with on a single piece. Buyer has suggested that I fly it out to him. This is videogame box art and not comic art so it might be too big to fit into a carry on. Any advice is welcome.
  20. What’s going on here?!?! It looks like the Punisher just killed Deathlok in a DC book !
  21. For sure that is the earliest known Le Justicier artwork. Neat bit of history but if I was in the market for the most important Batman artwork available it wouldn’t be on my #10 wanted list.
  22. Today if I purchase a collection of these stories is it not called a graphic novel? Amazon has it listed as one. This is what I am talking about. I’m not planning on tracking down the original comics. https://www.amazon.com/Master-Race-Other-Stories-Krigstein/dp/1683960947
  23. Born in the 70s I read mostly Marvel comics from the 80s and 90s. Never read or heard of this story before. Buying and selling a bit of comic art I couldn’t help but see an occasional piece of EC artwork time and again and I’d wonder about these stories. Perhaps It is time to pick up a few graphic novels.
  24. Saw this article on millennials and nostalgia pop up on my Facebook home page today. https://millennialmagazine.com/2017/09/18/the-power-of-nostalgia-ranks-high-among-millennials/
