  1. Is this our future or our grandchildren's future? I see you're an optimist.
  2. If I had a Fantastic #3, I'd most likely go with that one on any given day but I have this one, albeit a low grader. It is the cover/book that got me hooked on Lou Fine.
  3. This has to be one of the grossest inaccuracies in NFL lore. I love Bo and he was a beast that ran through NFL lineman like wet paper bags, but this was just a case of Bo hitting Boz at the goal line and spinning away from him for the score. I really don't know how this got started, and hits like Earl Campbell on Tatum (or is goring of that poor Ram) and Atwater on the Nigerian Nightmare are *real* hits that shake your living room. This was just a basic football play that got blown way out of proportion. I agree, I thought that play was like normal, nothing really to talk about. It might have been a bit above average in terms of aggression, and stuff like that didn't happen to Boz often, BUT especially back then there were 10-15 of those hits per week I graduated from the University of Oklahoma and had actually had a class which Boz was in. He showed up for almost every class and was very reserved in class. So different from his on field demeanor. He was one of the most fierce college players I have ever seen play. Steve Sewell who played for the Broncos for a number of years was in another one of business classes. Same went for him. Always present and quiet. Can't say the same for others like Marcus Dupree and Jamelle Holloway. Saw them on test days and they were among the first to finish their test.
  4. Not Ebay but what the heck is going on with this CC auction for Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends #1 Already at $101 with 3 days to go http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=538091 A 9.6 sold for $70 in March according to GPA. Time for me to sell my slabbed 9.8, I guess.
  5. Thanks - yes, I changed it not too long ago. I am amazed at how many Big 3 #1s I see. Has to be one of the most abundant GA books around. Was there something special about #5. My copy is stamped FREE COPY and I really didn't think too much about it but I noticed Metro has a copy with the same stamp. Just thought it was interesting. My Copy - Metro's Copy
  6. Very nice #4. One of the three issues along with #6 and #7 that I lack. Very pretty reds on that one.
  7. Great service from Mike. No problems at all. Looking forward to more deals and books.
  8. When a character flaw like this is exposed coupled with recurring, uncorrected behavior, it is enough for me not to deal with a person. Regardless of the outcome, I won't be buying.
  9. The 2 no votes must be Symbi and his shill.
  10. Of course there is always (because he can do anything )
  11. I'll gladly edit mine when this one is gone. This is what stared the BS. I started the discussion as this is a discussion thread. No names mentioned, not saying this was even an actual event as it could be merely hypothetical, and not even saying it has happened to me. I have yet to have any problems with any board dealing and I have bought and sold lots here. It amazes me how far assumptions can go. Please edit to remove any board member names or delete the assumptive posts. And thanks all for replying to my curiosity.
  12. Every time I see the pic that Dice posted, I think of the Kramer painting from that Seinfeld episode and the quote - "He's a loathsome offensive brute, yet I can't look away." You know the guy I would have loved to have played Wolvie was Steve McQueen. He was shorter in stature and tough as nails.
  13. Hey Jeff. I think in this situation because each time the buyer agreed with extending the shipment so as to add more books, then the terms were mutually changed. I know there are some sellers that conduct huge sales threads, and try and ship everything at the end. I've bought from folks like this before. But they will tell you to hold off on payment if you like until they are ready to ship. At least tell a buyer there will be a delay. Hi Nick and thanks Not sure if this makes any difference. The seller sent an invoice after the first sales thread/purchases. There was no indication of any future sales. Again, the invoice was paid immediately. The buyer sent the first follow-up PM (a couple of weeks after purchase) after noticing the seller started selling more books. I agree the buyer agreed to add more books to the initial purchase so I guess that does make sense that the clock would start at that point but there was an initial invoice for the first set of books which was paid immediately after receipt.
  14. Scenario - a purchase is made in a seller's sales thread and paid for on the same day. This is a long-time and reputable seller. A couple of weeks pass and no books but the seller starts another (or adds to the same sales thread). Buyer sends seller a PM asking about the books and is told they have not yet shipped. Buyer adds more books to the original purchase since the first batch is still unshipped and can save on shipping. Again, buyer pays immediately after purchase. Another couple of weeks pass and still no books. Buyer sends PM and is told books still haven't shipped because of some health issues. Just curious, does the PL clock restart since more books were added to the original purchase or not?
  15. I thought I had posted mine but don't see it
  16. Hey Pov, I actually thought the market was fairly strong for these but maybe because I collect especially the DC horror books. Obviously I would love it if you posted here so we could take a shot at them. I would for sure be in the hunt for some myself. I guess a lot of it as you know is how much time and energy are you able to put into it. Lots of scanning, grading, posting for individual listings.
  17. i've since sent wolfpack06 the refund on the manifest destiny 1. also after shipping out the outstanding books i have had, i'm stepping away from the board and selling for the foreseeable future. Wasn't this the same guy who admitted to shilling some of his auctions but not all? http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7177906&fpart=1
  18. I agree at least 9.6. On some issues not even that to recoup cost.
  19. Depends on what grades they are in.
  20. This is crazy. I have two slow track value subs. One received on 1-9-14 that has been at graded for over 3 weeks. One received on 1-31-14 that went to graded about a week and half ago and is now at Grading/QC. FIFO? I don't think so.
