  1. Love it,and that date stamp! I may have a new favorite Joe Kubert cover. That is great Richard.
  2. The issues with Stronguy were very off-putting. He went on the PL here - http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6820994#Post6820994 The drama with Stronguy was in the PL discussion thread and ended here - you can go back and review the previous posts http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6963458#Post6963458 Not sure when all the recent transactions took place to actually submit a nomination. Good luck, Mark. And yeah - Woregul's name should be removed whoever posted his name.
  3. Actually it doesn't take much research to find out the Seller in question. I would be mad if I didn't hear anything for 3 weeks. You might as well just officially out him. The seller just PMd me and said he's had some family issues. He will be getting to it. I'm a really understanding guy as long as someone communicates with me. We aren't talking big money here so the rush isn't there but I just need communication if there is a big delay. Hoping this gets resolved with no issues. I too haven't received mine Mark and I haven't heard anything in a week about it. Annoyed. I have PM'd several times as well and got the same response as you about computer problems saying it would ship the next day and as far as I know it still hasn't. I will PM him too. Frustrated. If this is who I think, he has been on the probation list in the past.
  4. Except War Machine, Ant Man, Venom, and even Cable all appeared in costume 2nd and those are the money books right? Not true for Ant-Man. For some reason, TTA#27 is erroneously listed as the first appearance of Ant-Man even though it's Hank Pym in street clothes. He becomes Ant-Man in TTA#35 and it's listed as Ant-Man's 2nd appearance... Shouldn't Avengers #59 be the 2nd appearance of Yellowjacket then? I'm not sure how I feel about Ant-Man's first appearance. The Fantastic Four didn't get their costumes until issue #3 so is that their first appearance?
  5. Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy seeing the great books that everyone posts here - so many fantastic books and great folks here in Gold. I think there may already be an Ace Appreciation thread - I don't have many but there they had some great covers, along with the Cheslers.
  6. Didn't want to start a new thread for my drek so this seemed somewhat appropriate. I was finally able to finish a couple of GA runs (that no one else would care about). Bought the Heroic and BT raw via Ebay and subbed them so now I have slabbed runs of these three titles. I had a lower grade copy of #4 that wasn't worth slabbing and had been looking for a decent copy of Leading #4 to complete my Seven Soldiers of Victory run. Heroic Comics #13 to finish that run before the genre switch. I have two lower grade copies of 13 already but again wanted a decent copy. And last but not least, BT #24 to finish that run - again I have a lower grade 24 but this allowed me to finish my BT run. Don't have a group shot but if interested I have the other books scanned and loaded on myslabbedcomics.com Black Terror Collection - http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryRoom.asp?Page=1&Order=Title&GSub=973 Heroic Comics Collection (#1-15) - http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryRoom.asp?Page=1&Order=Title&GSub=527 Seven Soldiers of Victory Collection (Leading Comics #1-14) - http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryRoom.asp?Page=1&Order=Title&GSub=1126
  7. What's the "unholy passion" story about? Sounds scandalous. Now you need a reader copy! Maybe he's the teacher
  8. That's hilarious. That's sound like a Monty Python skit
  9. Do you have link to the auction? I had this graded. It is a fanzine with b/w interiors. I also have #24 which has a Dave Stevens cover that I may slab.
  10. Oh I agree, that's why I mentioned it was staged. Just found it curious that the AF 15 and CGC were never mentioned. Supposedly it was evaluate his action figure collection but showed hardly any of that. I would have liked to have the figures myself. Still like the show for the reasons mentioned above and the host is good.
  11. I didn't have it DVRed and couldn't go back but I thought that was AF 15. The sale is recorded in GPA - $15K in February/2011. Appraised out at $75K on the show.
  12. I searched and don't think this has been posted but if so, start up the Titanic Sinks images. Extreme Collectors is a Canadian show that happened to be on Discovery Network in the states. One of the episodes I caught featured a Captain America #1 signed by Joe Simon and Stan Lee (a 6.0 PLOD). The owner from Dallas (possibly a board member) mainly had an action figure collection although I think I saw an AF 15 under the CA 1. What I thought was interesting is the owner appeared to have no idea of current value and even though it was slabbed by CGC - I don't think CGC or professionally graded or similar was ever mentioned even when the expert looked at the book. I forget the expert's name but they gave - he said it was first he had ever held a CA 1. I realize these shows are staged but it was just curious. Anyone else see the show? Here is a link to the episode although apparently if you are US based, you cannot view the show online. I like shows and the host - just to see the different types of collections. http://www.slice.ca/extreme-collectors/episode-guide/captain-america-1/
  13. This is like watching a McEnroe and Connors match
  14. Actually I demonstrated that editing the PM changes the content, does not change the Time Stamp and show no indication of having been edited. I did bring those up in my original post: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=350559&Number=7935588#Post7935588 And this was not meant to accuse anyone of anything. But too many people seemed secure in the time stamp as a form of inviolate truth. It is not inviolate. Did you just say what I said? If I remember correctly though on the content if you have it set up to get your PMs via e-mail, you get separate e-mails for each edit - the original plus additional e-mails for each edit. I'll test that. Not that it matters in this discussion and yes, I think POV and you are saying the same thing.
  15. This is the language I used in my recent sales thread - "First in the thread or via PM based on timestamp wins. If the lot goes on hold, that means it is off the market at that time." Reading back through it, I could have even more clear about what and when a sale is consummated. I have always agreed sellers should be as clear as possible in their rules post. The "usual rules" frustrates me and opens the door for controversy.
  16. What a wonderful cover! Agreed. Suzie. That is a cool book - had really never read the newspaper headlines, poor Suzie
  17. Forgive my ignorance, what is this? It looks cool but I have never seen it before that I remember.
  18. Please I hope they do Doc some justice - can be some great content. Assuming he is in it, Dormammu better not look like Ghost Rider.
  19. I can attest to the part below. I had done this with a HC Overstreet Price Guide. Not a high dollar item but it does happen. Good post and research. "storing a book with the spine up may cause the text to pull out of the binding due to its weight"
  20. Wow - Oklahoma City, my hometown. I have never noticed/seen this one. I may have to look for a copy. Nice again, MM.
  21. From Pedigreecomics website https://www.pedigreecomics.com/article.php?article_id=4 "The collection, approximately 4,000 comic books (and full runs of Marvel magazines) was founded in 1993 by Marnin Rosenberg, a longtime collector and dealer out of Great Neck, New York. Mr. Rosenberg responded to an advertisement in the Comic Buyer’s Guide placed by the original owner (Dennis Richard), who began selling piecemeal portions of his runs of comic books to Mr. Rosenberg, starting with the Marvels."
