  1. Tarzan #132. 1st Gold Key issue.
  2. Space Family Robinson #18. This is probably one of the first Space Family Robinson's I read.
  3. Magnus #16. This might be the first one I read.
  4. Jet Dream #1. Gotta love those "acrobeauts!"
  5. Occult Files Of Doctor Spektor #1.
  6. Here's #2. The pre-costume Solar covers really look like science-fiction paperback covers from that time.
  7. Eventually I collected the entire SA run. Here's #1.
  8. A lot of my SA purchasing and collecting was focused on DC and Marvel, but I picked up some Gold Keys along the way. They're fun books. The following scans are some examples from my collection. I think Doctor Solar #17 was the first Doctor Solar I read. My brother bought it off the stands.
  9. This cover appears to have been drawn as simple line art yet there is so much "painterly" work in the coloring that I think it is a classic example of a greytone. I think so too. It's hard to tell with the funny animal books because they used a lot of pastel colors, but I think the painterly work you mentioned sets these examples apart.
  10. No. He is a Batman type character. A "super-detective". Strong, fast, smart, athletic, wears a costume, fights crime. There was an article about the Blue Streak book in an issue of Comic Book Marketplace and I went out and found a copy. I miss CBM. It always made my wantlist even longer.
