The fact that they are opening it on the first weekend of May says a lot to me. Historically the first weekend of May is the most successful time to release a film based on box office gross. It's not a measure of quality but definetly one of probable success.

I went to the panel and the movie does look like a lot of fun. The music, though, is not set in stone. They only just completed production a few weeks ago, and the rights to use particular songs have not been obtained yet. Favreau did say that whatever music is chosen will be heavy guitar, and pure rock & roll whenever Iron Man is in battle mode.
