Any chance this is not legitimate?

Shouldn't be difficult for someone here with the right software to enlarge the serial# to verify the book's existence.

Then ascertain the true owner.

Then find out if this account was hijacked.

Then discover the seller's real...

Aw, ya know what, short answer NO. no chance.

Calling CaptainTripps. Calling CaptainTripps.

Take a good look at the auction scan. It says "Pacific Coast" on the right side.

That scan is of the Pacific Coast Avengers #4, which is safely ensconced in the good Captain's collection - at least according to the Registry .

The serial number in the scan is 0702199009, which is Captain's book.

OK, I just sent the (only) bidder this:

"Hi

I see you are bidding on a very high grade Avengers 4.

Just a heads up, you might want to have a look at this thread on the CGC Boards about this book:

http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1835069&page=1&gonew=1#UNREAD

Cheers

Duffman"

Naturally, this only works until the book hits $200. :frustrated:

The bidder has been buying some silver/bronze books and does not seem to be a shill for the vendor.
