I thought that the results were a bit mixed, to be honest. The highest graded earlier issues went for decent coin, but I kind of expected the #9 (1st Sinestro cover) and #6 (did not meet reserve) to go higher.

It was interesting to see the 9.4 GL #76 did not meet reserve or break $8K. It is a great looking copy, but I guess the lack of opportunity to maximize its value with a quick press and flip probably held it back.

I wouldn't be surprise a 9.8 will show up someday. GL 76 is a great book to have, but seeing one and a half dozen 9.4 on the census...doesn't make me jump up to pay over $10K for...at least at this moment.

Agree with you on the #9. In my buying days, I would've bid more than the winning bid. For all we know, the winning bidder was willing to bid more, but no one pushed him up.

Why would you expect increased supply to result in a bounce back in prices?

Why would you expect increased supply to result in a bounce back in prices?

It was a relatively nicely centered copy with White pages and if the press and flip gang was 100% certain it had been untouched then it would have probably gone for more. This is why I had my original price range at $7-$8 K on it. My rationale was simple - since Doug/his consignors have done the press and flip so often there was likely no room to "upgrade" the book any further

Green Lantern #1 (DC, 1960) CGC NM- 9.2 White pages....$16730

Mound City GL 1 9.2 was way too high. (thumbs u

based on the $50k tim's 9.4 went for it wasn't outrageously high for an: unpressed, first 9.2 to market in years copy.

this copy has a pretty noticeable dust shadow but structure is very nice.

don't know what people were thinking for this book- but based on other results this is the deadest "hot" title ever. the #9 9.2 went for 60% less than the last sale (probably because it looked like an overgraded POS). i picked up the #25 for exactly half the last GPA sale (and i probably overpaid). the #4 9.4 (a terrible looking 9.4) went for less than the MC 9.2.

I thought it would sell between $8-10K. I would have love to purchase it at around $6K.

Only a bit more than half of what the MC 9.2 copy went for not all that long ago. And less than 1/3 of what the 9.4 copy sold for in the last auction.
