I'm surprised no one's mentioned the 'tec #8. A stunning copy for a 4.5.

Checking the Heritage archive, this book looks like the same one that used to grade out at a 4.0 with the notation "centerfold detached and a 2" tear". It was then resubbed and sold again at Heritage as a 4.5, new CGC label with no notations. The 4.0 is also off the census and this is the only 4.5.

I was going to bid on it, but now I think I'll pass.

Assuming the following information is true, it makes me ponder CGC's decision to provide LESS information about the book. A detached centerfold should warrant at least a byline. :P

Agreed. The stains on the back look like it's the same book. And the fact that the 4.0 is gone on the census and this is the only 4.5 corraborates it all.

I think I lost out on the Action 29, but it's hard to tell. I still show as high bidder on the Mastro website at $1183, but eBay shows a winning floor bid of $1200. Could a floor bidder really beat me out by $17? The auction rules specify a minimum bid increase of 10% up to $10,000.

Mastro isn't great about emailing to let you know your status. doh!

Do the ebay ended auction prices include the 22.5% buyer's premium?

Also, I found it interesting that a 3.0 Tec #25 sold for more than a 4.0 #16, at least according to the ebay results (according to the Mastronet site, the Tec #16 sold for more).

If anybody out there understands how this works, I would love an explanation.
