9.2 seems a bit optimistic. Looks like a small corner chip on the bottom right, spine stresses and what might be a spinner rack bend through the price box. A bit of soiling to the back cover.

Just the spinner rack bend on an otherwise nearly perfect book will drop it to 9.0 with CGC.

Looks to me like an 8.5 with the accumulated defects of the obvious color-breaking spine stress, the minor back cover soiling, and the multiple surface impressions along the spine front and back.

But, hey, this is coming from Mister Seventyfirst Place! :insane:

Not looking to flip this, need one for my collection but I dont want a 9.0 and cant afford a 9.4 at the moment.

If I was looking to buy it for my collection, I would want everyone to say "pass on it" because I might be looking through rose colored glasses. But I am comic weak like that some times.

Nik,

You know how bad I want a sweet copy of this book. This is the one book I am wanting to get above all others right now, but I can't find one in the grade I want. That being said, I myself wouldn't buy it for $300 and I'm addicted to FF like crack!. It's clearly not a 9.2 IMO. The impact crease in the logo area It's more of a 9.0.

Offer the guy $175-$200

Sounds like you got some good advice. No need to pay multiples for a 8.5/9.0 type book. If you can get it for under $200 I would say thats not a bad deal, but not a great one either.

My gut tells me to pass.

if a 9.0 is unacceptable then forget it cause this book is sharp but its not that minty. my first impression is it is a 9.0 but could even be an 8.5 in hand. its still a beauty of a book if you can get around the technical grade - be a plus to talk down the price a little too!
