He used to be a staple at the mid ohio con.

If I was a betting man, seeing how he wasn't the draw any more at shows, people weren't lining up to get his autograph...he probably figured it just wasn't worth the time.

 

I remember back in the 1980s, it was like waiting to see a rock star.

It was NUTTY.

 

Last time I saw him at a show was Mid Ohio 2001, I think.

Maybe 3 people in a line to see him at any given moment.

No waiting.

we are talking about John Byrne, not Steve Ditko. Byrne I think would come out of con retirement if there was alot of money and attention shot his way as he wants to be worshipped. Steve Ditko just doesn't want to be bothered.
